Oh well now you're just obviously trolling.
I'm really not.
I honestly have no idea why a kid couldn't watch that movie. Because it has some adult themes? Give me a break. Kids don't have to be sheltered little pussies. There's nothing in that movie that a kid couldn't handle.
I saw that movie when I was a kid. I also saw Terminator, Alien, and Die Hard.
Horror is probably the only genre of movies kids shouldn't watch until they can mentally handle it.
The only movie I saw as a kid that seriously fricked with me was Scream. That movie terrified me.
On the other hand I loved Jaws and it remains one of my all time favorite movies.

Watson doesn't have the lungs for Belle.
She was fine for what the character was. Y'all acting like Belle sang power ballads or something and had this amazing voice

I didn't think I could hate Josh Gad more than I already did. He ruined Labou. It's one thing to make him a gay but a flaming one?
Did you even see the movie? Flaming?

Disney also had to shoe-in two interracial couples that weren't interracial in the cartoon.
Yes, the absolute horror.
Some of you are idiots

All OK.

It doesn't hold a candle to the original.
I don't think a single person went into it thinking it would.

They also added too much useless crap to the story. My girls were extremely bored by the end of the film
Yeah, frick all that "backstory" and "character development."

If my mother-in-law hadn't screened it for us, we never would have taken our girls to see it until after we could have gotten a chance to watch it without them first
Holy shite. People like you actually exist?

I can understand using some precaution if the movie garnered a PG-13 rating, but it was PG. And Disney. That's enough for me to not need a "screener."
And then some of these guys were expecting some hardcore gay sex scene? That's just even more troubling their minds go there.

At least Adam didn't pronounce "it is a me-a-cle ah ah ah ah" like he did at the end of the cartoon.

Saw it tonight. Thought it was pretty good.
Watson was solid, far better than I expected. Solid choice in casting IMO.
Gad is a scene stealer, he's got good delivery and as a bonus he can sing. Darn shame we didn't go see it last night as he was here at the theater at Disney Springs.
Evans was very good, I think he may love the face in the mirror as much as Gaston.
Worst casting... hard to decide between Kline and McKellen. Horrible choices for both characters IMO.
Emma Thompson did well, just a shame she had such a high bar to try and reach what Lansbury did with Mrs. Potts.
It was well worth the price of admission.

I hate this logic. Belle never even kisses the Beast until he's human. Might as well be her dog that she loves. Btw how the hell does Mrs. Potts have a young kid? She's like 60.

What about the theme that every woman should give an abusive piece of shite a ton of chances because there might be a good guy there somewhere.

This is why I never cared for this story, and why I'm glad my girls don't either.

Yeah...it being Disney generally means it will be okay to take your kids to see, but you still need to watch out for that PG rating sometimes. Top Gun and Apollo 13 are two examples of PG-rated movies with a few adult themes that some parents might feel uncomfortable introducing their young children to - not to mention foul language.
And then you have older films before the PG-13 rating was ever invented. Films such as Jaws, Poltergeist, and the first two Indiana Jones movies. All of those films were rated PG and feature some very questionable content that some parents may not want to let their children see.

He never hit Belle. He just yelled. She wasn't even a prisoner. He immediately let her move into her own suite.

What in Top Gun is uncomfortable? The shadow kissing behind the curtain?

Top Gun...speaking of gay themes.

That, the frequent use of foul language, crude slang terms for sex and male erections, as well as a pair of crude hand gestures. Some parents may have a problem with those things.

This is simply your opinion. I will decide what is shown at my house.

You single out an entire genre while listing movies that are more violent than many horror movies as movies you saw as a kid.
You clearly don't have good judgment.

This is humorous because you seem to be implying children shouldn't be protected. You sound like a fool. My mother-in-law was going to see the film anyway. She's just someone I trusted to tell me if it was ok for my kids or not. No different than asking other parents I trust. It may surprise you to know that good parents often do this. There are even websites dedicated to parents rating films based on appropriate age ranges. It's clear from your comments that you don't recognize good parenting, so I doubt you're familiar with the practice.
