Also didn't care for the addition about Prince Adam's cruel father.
That was pretty odd. It was like they were trying to place part of the blame on the servants. Maybe an effort to explain why they were cursed too?

I'm watching the original now. Lafou was definitely more sychophant than gay in the cartoon. I know Beauty and the Beast has been told in many different versions (most notably the 80s show with Linda Hamilton) but are Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, etc Disney created characters?

I don't think the idea of items in his household coming alive was an original idea by Disney, but I do think the individual characters were original.

You guys heard how Disney got the plot of Mulan and Pocahontas mixed up?

Disneys Beauty and the Beast...

Yes, because that automatically means it's going to be okay for children...
Well... Yeah it does. Can you name a Disney fairytale movie that wasn't OK for kids?

Apparently me and you both have missed the ones that weren't appropriate for kids these days

All those Disney R rated adult themed movies.
Disney is the company that neutered Ultron.
Being scared to take your kids to a Disney movie you haven't screened first out of fear of something so shocking and terrible that it would forever scare your children is bizarre.

Well, since we're discussing a live-action adaptation film here, I will go with both of the new Alice In Wonderland flicks.
ETA: This is too easy guys. Want to move the goalposts again? You're only making yourselves look foolish.

"Scared."

What other Disney movies do you want to see updated besides the obvious 90s choices? The Rescuers would be cool with photo real mice. The Fox and the Hound with realistic animals. Tarzan too. I'm sure they'd do a much better job than that trite that just came out last year.

Sword in the Stone.

The PG rated Tim Burton Johnny Depp movies? What about those wasn't OK for kids? Other than being obnoxiously stupid and terrible, why weren't they OK in your opinion?

Who framed Roger Rabbit is a timeless classic and there's no reason a kid can't watch that movie.
What scenes in that movie are too much for your kid to handle?

The first movie was far too violent. Should have been PG-13. I guess the lack of swear words let it slip by. This is a pretty common complaint from parents about that film.
Honestly, I didn't watch the second one because the first was terrible, but I heard it was the same deal. I won't be watching it to find out.

Oh well now you're just obviously trolling.

Went with wife and kids today. Ok but not great. The two weakest portrayals were the two leads, imho.

Just got out and I thought it was fantastic. The "Be Our Guest" number was incredibly well done and when the orchestra fired up the title song, I'll admit the nostalgia feels hit hard. An incredibly fun and satisfying movie experience.

You have no issues about a movie on beastiality but gayness is over the line.
