just saw the pats were in FA looking for a gronk replacement TE so he will be cut most likely
Holy frick
You just keep getting better and better
You realize the Pats love running 2 TE sets and are replacing their TE that is getting a pay day?
quote:
why? gronk is getting old and slowing down with reduced production, wouldn't be shocked if he was about to retire
He had ~1200 yards, 11 TDs and 16+ ypc in 2015.
He had over 20 ypc in 2016. He breasted in the 5 games he was healthy
He put up a 5 game stretch of:
109
162
93
109
56
With 3 TDs
Cutting Gronk
Must be for that $750k in cap savings

In seven seasons, Gronkowski has only had two completely healthy seasons (2010, 2014), and one additional season (2011) during which he was healthy until the AFC Championship game when he suffered a high ankle sprain that clearly limited him in a Super Bowl loss.
Gronkowski’s other injuries include a torn ACL, a twice-broken forearm that developed a serious infection, one concussion that we know of, a sprained knee, a herniated disk, a pulmonary contusion, a strained pectoral, and a strained hamstring. Four of those injuries occurred in the last seven months! He has also had nine reported surgeries — four on his forearm, three on his back, one on his knee, and one on his ankle — and has missed a total of 24 games.
Eit - and this last major back surgery makes it surgery # 4 on his back

Yep, he gets hurt.
Now show me any evidence of the following:
Gronk considering retirement
The pats considering cutting him (newsflash: he'd be traded for in seconds with pretty good value too)
A decline in his production
You So Smart!!!!
Furthermore, you seem to be oblivious to the fact that the Patriots love running multiple TE sets
It's the NFL and he's a TE (27 year old TE too).
He played in 17 games in 2015 with 227 yards and 3 TDs in the 2 playoff games
He played in 18 games in 2014 with 204 yards and 3 TDs in the 3 playoff games.
He was easily the best TE in football last year in the games he played...but they are going to cut him for 750k

Rob Gronkowski (back) said he will "for sure" be ready to play Week 1. "Uh, yes," Gronkowski said when asked if he'll be ready to go for the season opener. "No doubt." Gronkowski is coming off his third known back surgery after he required 2009 and 2013 operations to repair herniated disks. As for his playing future, Gronk said he's not yet even thinking about retirement. Still just 28 (in May), Gronkowski's body has been through a lot in such a short period of time, but he keeps coming back better than ever. He averaged a monstrous 21.6 yards per catch on 25 grabs in 2016. Gronkowski is still the TE1 in fantasy.

you must be a Hillary voter
you certainly act like it
I already gave you the health report but you only believe what you want because you cant handle it
unlike you I go by the reported facts and not memory of how much you like a player and choose to ignore the rest like he cant stay on the field for a whole season ands has had more health issues then someone who should be 80 years old

Show me the facts of the following:

Any report that the Pats are considering cutting him

Evidence of getting old, slowing down and reduced production.
Evidence that he is condering retirement, especially given this quote:

Gronk finished 2nd in Yards Per Game for TEs in 2016 despite having 3 games with extremely limited snaps. He finished 1st in Yards/Catch. Even for the season, he finished in the top 20 for yards and TDs
Some more facts you reported

I know its hard for you but read and understand

this report comes from the patriots medical dept and is reliable facts
unlike your "the player said he will be back"
every player ever injured says that even when they know it isn't true.
maybe he can come back but at what level? don't even try to lie and say you know because you don't and neither do the pats or gronk

Holy frick you're entertaining
I pray that you're just trolling with 100% of your posts. Each one is just so much dumber than the next

At above an $750k level
Seriously, show me 1 report that says they are likely cutting him

its very possible he may not be able to recover from this last back surgery.
I said if he isnt able play, they "might" cut him or he might just retire since he wouldn't be tradable if that were the case.
I also said it was possible he could recover and be ok, but nobody knows for sure not even the doctors.
pretty simple logic there, if a player cant play he has no value. tiger says this is not true.
but tiger says knows more then the doctors about gronks medical condition and what the future holds for him

very well could be the case, but patriots aren't stupid. they gain nothing from cutting him.

won't find out for a very long time, like into the 2017 season type of deal. even still they'll IR him at worst because once again, 750k in savings is close to nothing. this isn't like peterson and the vikings

doctors never know 100% if medicine/surgical intervention will work.

tiger is saying the reality is cutting him, even if he's unhealthy, is stupid. you gain absolutely nothing by cutting him.
lets just say 50/50 for him right now.
750k or a 50% chance he gets better and contributes. you're taking the latter.

No, that isn't what you said. You literally just quoted yourself incorrectly
Read your own words slowly. I put emphasis on the part where you said "most likely", not "might".

Link to the doctors?
You couldn't even get his surgeries right
Since, according to you, he's "most likely" getting cut, despite reports that he's going to be ready for offseason activities, let's put $10k on it.

So this was just pulled out of your arse:
quote:
why cut a player who just had major back surgery and most likely wont be able to play anymore.
since you're the one making these stupid claims, link 1 report sourcing a doctor saying Gronk LIKELY wont play again
$10k on it. I can setup an escrow in the morning

Exactly. Let's put it this way. If word got out that the Pat's were going to cut Gronk( ) due to a 2017 setback on his surgery, he'd be traded for at least a late rounder so unbelievably quickly.
Easily the best TE in football and showed it last year. No indications that his rehab and recovery has had any issues
