my thoughts are that bringing bill belichick his coffee is a stepping stone to NFL head coach or GM, and that's because he trades tebucky jones for a 2nd rounder not the best TE in the league for a good, not great WR

If the Patriots would be for it, you definitely don't do it.

Gronk would own the quarter tho

why? gronk is getting old and slowing down with reduced production, wouldn't be shocked if he was about to retire

cutting gronk:
saves 750k pre-june1
saves 4.75mil post-june1

yeah, not happening

lol, well then maybe somebody forgot to check with you first, because they just traded for a TE and don't know if gronk will be able to play much less be any good after his back surgery

I saw that and they also love having 2 viable TEs on their roster.

The fact is cutting Gronk gains you almost nothing when they have 55mil to spend on their own guys + free agents.

So why cut Gronk for a net +750k when you could sit on it and MAYBE get production out of him late in the season if he took a while to get better.

hmmm, that's a tough question...... why cut a player who just had major back surgery and most likely wont be able to play anymore.

ya that one's hard to figure out lol

at this point it is pure speculation and your BS 'if he can't play anymore' and there's no sources or indication to say that he won't even play again.

It isn't like they gain much by cutting him (once again 750k) nor are they strapped for cash (once again 55.3mil), they could literally sit on him and wait without much of a problem. If he can't return to form or possibly even retirement you can let him go next year.

some special teamer who doesn't do much, sure cut him without a second thought.

arguably the best TE if he's healthy, you take the risk. its stupid not to
