When I went into Rouses the best I saw was Vernon's, which I got 2 packs.

Wayne Jacob Smokehouse on w. 5th in Laplace is what you are looking for. Much better than the ones on Airline highway by a large margin.

Use Verons andouille. Use it also as your sausage since it's not very smoky. Excellently flavored for gumbo.

Chris's in Lakeview is pretty good. I'm not going to say better than Laplace, but best I have purchased in the metro area.
