Are you joking? If she is a schizo then the mental ward is the last place she should go. Do you know what they do to schizos in those places? Best just to ride it out.

They stopped doing frontal lobotomies last year. Wake up, man.

They convinced gullible idiots that they stopped.

I've already had the MRI. Today is the day I get the results. But, I am concerned that I'll go in and end up getting hauled off somewhere.

Well they seem to be on the up and up to take your comfort into account so far.

You refused to answer questions so they got someone else to look at the referral and he went with another way to check things out. Seems quite helpful to me.

I'm not at all paranoid. I just want to make sure that my Dad is not tampering with this (though he shouldn't know but you know how that goes). I'm not going to some mental hospital. And, I'm clearly not a danger to anyone.

Everything was fine until I told the neuro that my headaches increase when I'm around cell phones, which is true. When I wouldn't answer some questions, he said that pappiladema has nothing to do with anything psychological. Basically, I think he might be sketchy.

Bro, I do MRIs for a living. Just go get the damn results.

P.S. They can't find crazy on a MRI.

And also, if you are over 18 they can't release the results to your dad unless you consent.

I'm not crazy but I know that they can say they found some contrived mental illness on an MRI.

Oh trust me, I definitely know how that goes. Boy do I! Don't get me started on your dad, I could talk for hours about him and how that goes.

Tumors, strokes, concussions, MS, enlarged brain or ventricles. They cannot find mental illnesses on a MRI.

Yea, right. The way my Dad is all in my business and on my phone you don't think he can find out?

I'm going to call my ophthamologist back, I like him. I wish my neuro was like Scruffy, he seems trustworthy and cool. I don't like doctors who ask too many questions.

Yes you are. A doctor cannot have you committed because your dad said to.

That is ILLEGAL. I repeat, ILLEGAL.

No, you are being paranoid. He isn't being sketchy. Neurologists ask plenty of questions to determine if there is a psych element associated. There are many things that they see that are psych associated. They deal with the brain.

I will say this very seriously, if this isn't a troll, and they saw papilledema, shut the frick up, quit thinking you know everything (you don't), quit thinking that everyone is out to get you, and GO TO THE frickING DOCTOR.

I like being blunt in these threads to stress the importance of this.

No they can't. That being said, you should seek psychiatric care.

You sound like you believe that medical professionals get bonuses for having people committed.

Sounds like that is exactly where you need to be.
