I enjoyed that a lot more than expected

Just think... our road crews, I'm sure that there isn't a huge difference among states, take weeks to go the distance shown.

Roads so good the working crews won't even drive on them.

That seemed terribly efficient. Must have been a private contractor.

Those truck drivers are excellent at backing up. Incredibly straight lines.

How the hell do they keep straight?!

When I was a kid, road crews chipsealed the road to my house like this. It was how country roads were paved where asphalt was too expensive.
Cool video.
Cool video.

That's a poor man's paved road. Tar and rock. Cheap, but not the best quality. Probably fine for that country road.

Perkins Rd. upgrades took 10 years to complete

Spraying a thin layer of hot tar and then a very thin layer of aggregate would not last one year with the rain here in Louisiana.

Where were all the guys holding stop signs? Or the guys in the trailers? Or the guys watching the guys with the stop signs and the trailers?

Would love to see them try that in lakeview. The clusterfrick would be hilarious.

That was extremely satisfying.

Plenty of back country roads in TX paved that way (I'm sure not done as efficiently as that). That's how chip seal is done. Rough and crumbly. But it will do for something like that. That is extremely fast and quite the display of backwards driving in a straight line.
