Who here has had the "Best Beer in the World"? Long story short, I am in the USAF stationed in England and was able to purchase some of this fine Belgium beer. Wow, this stuff is GREAT. Anyway, I am retiring soon and headed back to the states soon with some that will hopefully last me a little while.

I sat in a Dutch dive bar last summer and had a Cantillion Gueze followed by a Westy12......Not a bad day.

Never had it but have had St Bernardus Abt 12 and Rochefort 10 which are similar and fantastic.

It's fantastic but I have to believe the (near) inability to get it in the states has hyped it beyond its actual quality.

It's really good. I didn't find it to be all that much different from ABT 12.

Have tried it several times... it's fantastic for the style and lived up to the hype in my opinion. Hard to really compare it to a barrel aged imperial stout or NE DIPA though. That's all in personal preference.

Objectively it's fantastic for the style.

Subjectively it's one of the most overrated beers out there.

I'm not really a fan of the style, but it's good for what it is. Definitely not the best beer in the world IMO.

But you can order this beer online from Etre Gourmet. If you order 6, it comes out to about $19 per bottle shipped to the US, which isn't much more than the $15 per bottle that people lined up to pay four years ago when they sent some to the US.

I expected it to disappoint, given its high praise, but it didn't. Wish I could get some regularly.
