Did the prosecution and LAPD do a really bad job in the OJ Simpson case?

Or was the jury really just completely wrong in bringing back a not guilty verdict?
Yes, I just finished the ESPN OJ documentary.

Well, the thing where they didn't take evidence (blood?) straight to the lab or whatever it was was an abomination. Plus, didn't Fung collect evidence without a glove? As far as the prosecution, I thought they did as well as they could other than Darden getting sucked into the glove trap.

all of the above?
Kind of my feeling. It is weird. The prosecution seemed subpar, but the jury was just completely idiotic because it seemed pretty clear that OJ did it.

If you ever have a chance, go listen to the detectives interviewing him.
He pretty much was about to admit to it and they never really went after the answer.

I assess blame like this:
50% to LAPD
30% to prosecution - the monotony of the DNA testimony was only eclipsed by Darden's glove moment.
20% to a jury that was hoodwinked by the Dream Team.

Even if there was video of OJ stabbing Nicole and Ron that jury wasn't going to convict OJ due to ethnic make up alone combined with the social shite going on in LA at that time.
The police and prosecution didn't do a perfect job, but they also didn't do a terrible job.

The prosecution screwed the pooch allowing him to try on gloves that are meant to fit snug and Furman saying the n-word apparently is worse than a guy who committed double murder.

The more interesting/somewhat angering part of the doc was when the older juror was saying that the acquittal was pure payback for Rodney King.

And they did it for a guy who was about as white a black guy as they come.

Prosecution lost the battle when they let the jury get stacked in a certain demographic.

They should not have tried the case in LA. That was their #1 mistake. Oj was a hero. They never had a chance.

She was too busy with the BBC to concentrate on her work.

I always felt that if rodney king never happened, oj would be guilty of murder. The city was too scared of a repeat riot

i was amazed at the amount of support he got from the community he basically alienated himself from
