Interesting episode..
I wonder what the connection is between the following events:
Gabriel freaking out and taking the supplies
The person in the car with him
The message BOAT in the bible
The 'trap' for Rick and his people
I don't think Gabriel would leave on his own accord, so it'll be interesting to see how this plays out

Just saw the beginning of the episode again. I didn't see anyone the first time, but watching for it this time you definitely see someone sit up right before the break.

I think Gabriel is taking supplies to try to kill Negan. Maybe bring weapons and supplies to the saviors and when he gets close do the job and sacrifice himself?

The guy that was spying on Alexandria drew Gabriel out. He was hiding in the car so no one would see him in Alexandria as they drove off.
Rick smiled because he saw his army he needed to defeat the saviors. He just had to convince them.

clearly the same person that saw rick and Aaron at the boat and who was in Gabriel's car after spying on Alexandria is part of that group
so Jesus not only knew about the kingdom, and their resources, but also knew that they were dealing with the saviors...and he knew all this back when he brought rick to the hilltop and worked with them to attack the outpost. so how did he not know that was just an outpost and not savior HQ? seems unlikely

That's what pisses me off the most about things...they all keep talking about how few weapons they have and whatnot, and Tara hasn't said word one about the giant cache of guns and ammo she found in that female compound thing.
The car/clothesline scene was cool, but man those cars didn't even slow down a little. That shite was super farfetched.
I didn't understand why they couldn't get the explosives before that crowd of walkers showed up. They were like half a mile (more?) away and there was really nothing drawing them toward Rick and company. Seemed like they should've been pretty safe for about 20-30 minutes, but all of a sudden 4 minutes later they are literally surrounded.
I think the smile at the end was Rick seeing a shitpile of people with weapons, and he knows that is the shite he needs to make this thing work. So now he's gotta put on his salesman cap and get to convincing.
I definitely didn't notice the other person in the car with Gabriel, but clearly there is more to that than "Gabriel stole all our shite."
I expect Ezekial to either come around, or most of his people to be like "frick this, we're fighting."
Solid start to the season...hopefully things start coming together quickly rather than slowly.

THats why they left the note saying even if you win, you lose.
Because it's designed for someone to find it as you spy, you follow them home and see where there camp is, then you found another communities home base.
There was no ammo only guns. Ammo is the precious resource in this world.

also...daryl's going to obviously discover carol, and tell her what all's happened since she left.
i keep coming back to my only real nag about this current storyline, which is just comical at this point...what in THE HELL do the alexandrians that are left actually do?
that scene with aaron and his boy toy made me laugh at its ridiculousness. the house is clean, tidy, well appointed, and we havent seen the other dude in years. the frick does he do all day? and the others...there's no farming, no livestock, no manufacture of any kind. its so dumb
