To those of you who think that is feasible, I give you a simple challenge. Go find a contractor and ask them if they'd build a wall with concrete and brick with these dimensions:

30 feet tall
10 feet wide
1 mile long
12.5 million dollars, and additional miles out in the middle of nowhere on top of that.

You know what I bet their response will be: frick No! I doubt they'd do it for under 20 million a mile. You'd have to start at 25 million if not 30 for a competent contractor to even consider it. And let's not think about buying property from private citizens on top of that.

Do any of y'all still not see why the Wall is an insanely stupid idea? It's the dumbest waste of tax payer money since the War in Iraq.

How many times do you have to be told that we are not paying for it? Mexico will pay for this wall one way or another.

Average concrete cost is $90 per cubic yard. That comes out to 4.2 mil per mile for concrete.

Throw in rebar, labor and machine gun nests and 12.5 mil per mile is actually over budget.

MAGA!

No, frick you. The "wall" isn't going to be constructed with anything close to the specs you just stated. So your figures are fake news. frickin DEMwits spin the facts however you want them to sound. fricking leeches.

Waste of money: of course

Cheaper than that: Nope. Litigation costs alone will be mind-boggling. The vast majority of land along the border is privately owned. I guess they're just going to force all those citizens to sell their land. Or will they just seize it? So much freedom and liberty, right?

Having hired contractors to build stuff, I have a simple rule. If a contractor says something is black, I'm certain it's white.

Never believe contractors, always have them sign lien waivers. As a general rule, they've never seen a bill they intend to pay, or a job they can bid accuratlery, or track and account for properly while it is in process.

Funny business, most aren't smart enough to know whether they're even making money until the job is complete, and many don't even know at that point.

Hopefully this helps you understand why I wouldn't ask a contractor anything.

Ok dipshit, with your vast knowledge of civil construction estimating, why don't you tell us exactly how much it costs per mile and how you got to that number.

Also, you left out wall thickness you ignorant twat.

You have to include administration, insurance, infrastructure.... I mean...you're going to need roads, water, sometimes sewer and electric to get material, equipment and workers to the job site. You're going to need guard towers every so often...those will need bathrooms, A/C, phone/internet....oh yeah, and staff....who require hr benefits, etc...

Some of these fools act like they're going to zip down to Home Depot, pick up some Gatorade and quickcrete and start.

Did you consider the cost incurred by not building it? Need pics of the people killed by criminal illegals to illustrate for your miserable arse?
