Exactly why I am expecting an improvement next season

Another 7-9 season, but it wasn't as bad as last years.

People keep overlooking this. The improvement on this team was evident

If you would have said after preseason that we would lose Breaux in week 1 then Williams in week 2, and Armstead for most of the year, I think most would have picked under 7 wins.

And last year seemingly wasn't as bad as the year before.

And both of the past 2 years key injuries really hurt our defense.

It's cliche as hell but teams just need to learn to "win" in the NFL and winning usually results in more of it. When we had our most successful seasons we were able to run the ball in the 2nd half extremely well which would shorten the game by 6 or 7 minutes in some cases. We can talk about adding a corner here or a lb there but I think being able to control the clock and dominate in the trenches when it matters is the thing that is missing the most from our really good years. That and extending drives with a RB catching passes out of the backfield.

Yep, we were 73 points better in run diff, that's a sizable difference.
