People who try to bring politics into everything to put someone down must completely lack a personality.

I'm wearing Nike sneakers as I type this, but if UA offered me a big pay day, I'd have no problem switching my shoes. Buga is taking care of his family and himself and he's earned that opportunity through a lot of hard work.

UA >>> Nike by a mile.

Better quality and does what it's supposed to do better. Nike as a brand has just been around so much longer

I wonder if he keeps the "BUGA Nation" thing going.

He now has the clout to actually make that a thing possibly.

I am pretty sure St. Aug wears UA and they have been working on him since high school.

UA is quickly snatching up a ton of top-tier athletes. Bryce Harper, Steph Curry, Jordan Spieth, Michael Phelps, Tom Brady.

2 years ago they had the biggest "coming out year" of any brand ever:

Jordan Spieth - PGA Player of the Year (Masters and US Open Champ)
Cam Newton - MVP of the NFL
Steph Curry - MVP of NBA and World Champion

I am in no way trying to slight him. Do you know how often this happens in other sports?

The top basketball players get deals before the draft too, in fact it seems to be the norm with basketball more than football. Simmons got a shoe deal with Nike before the draft. Turned down a $12mil deal with adidas for a $7.5mil deal with Nike. It'll be interesting to see how much LF's is for, I'd guess in the $5mil range since BBall is a more individual sport.

Am I mistaken to think that this would NOT have happened had Fournette gone to Bama? Over there, he would've been a small fish in a big pond, run-of-the-mill-Bama product. Here at LSU, he stood out.

O and the coaches should be using this as a recruiting tactic for the 5-stars.

If only Nike would have cared more about pronouncing his name right.

You honestly can't be this naive. I went to LSU and have watched him play since high school. I'm not trying to slight him one bit. I guess it's just coincidence that his school switched from Nike to UA his senior year, continues to wear UA and he announces his deal with a pair of UA St Aug cleats. I wish him nothing but the best, but this is the business of sports.

Ok so Rummel just recently went to UA uniforms, who do they have on the roster that facilitated that transition? The answer is nobody. UA started a national campaign LF senior year to get into the business of outfitting High Schools. St. Aug reached out to them bc we were in the market for new uniforms. The Nike uniforms had run its course. We got tha standard deal every HS gets. No funny business behind this deal.
