Uh bullshite. That's such a short-sighted statement.

Nobody would ever say Dilfer was the key to that SB. It was the defense by far, and they could've won the SB with a dozen different QB's Probably. On the other hand, the Saints don't sniff the playoffs without Brees.

If the Saints are serious about winning, they should consider cutting ties with Brees in order to upgrade across the board.

After three straight seasons below .500, Brees is still producing stats but they aren't winning enough because they can't afford good enough players everywhere else.

Only way Winston goes to the HOF is if he buys a ticket and visits.

I'm not excusing the Saints' squandering, but what are the turnover numbers for all 5? I bet Brees turns the ball over more than the rest by a pretty substantial number.

So what? Aaron Rodgers doesn't either.

Brady didn't have one for nearly a decade.

Brett Favre only won one in his entire long arse career.

What point are you trying to make?

Meh. Too late to get fair trade value. He's worth way more to the franchise than he would fetch at 38- years-old.

That's why I say that unless the Saints hire a Bill Parcells or a Bill Polian to run all football operations including player personnel selection, they are DOOMED.

Sean Payton is incapable of being in charge of the above referenced duties.

The problem isn't Brees. It's drafting and bad free agent deals

The Saints went 7-9 with $40mil of dead money this year. Because of drew Brees

I think it's equal parts:

*bad defense
*Payton cronyism
*salary cap hell
*awful drafts
*Payton doesn't give a shite after the suspension
*Bountygate
*Brees cares more about stats/contract/endorsements/business than winning it all

And your ignorance is upvoted. Here's the list of quarterbacks who have a higher cap hit that Brees.

1. Eli Manning
2. Ben Roethlisberger
3. Matt Ryan
4. Joe Flacco
5. Matthew Stafford
6. Tony Romo
7. Kirk Cousins
8. Cam Newton
9. Aaron Rodgers
10. Russel Wilson
11. Andrew Luck
12. Carson Palmer
13. Alex Smith

But of course the 14th highest cap hit future hall of fame quarterback is the one who needs to get cut. It's his salary that's the problem. God damn absurd.

Mickey Loomis and Sean Payton suck at drafting defensive players and have sucked in free agency.

It is criminal the way they have wasted Brees's talent. He has never had a pro bowl WR or RB either in NOLA. They have averaged a top 3 ranking in ypg as a unit over his tenure and has led 5 times.

I didn't mean to suggest Brees was the problem by any stretch. But I do think his size(and the horrible defenses) makes him have to take chances more often than the other guys. Their keeping the ball contributes to their consistent success.

Why does no one blame Jenkins for getting burned for 60 yards to even get the 49ers in scoring range?

Rogers and Brady yes, but not really anyone else of note demonstrably better for a career imo. He is Top 15 all time in Int %.
