You may not believe this, but the best mattress I've ever had—and curvy women of all ages have agreed—is a cheap futon mattress topped with cheap 4" memory foam.

They have a showroom in Phoenix and San Francisco. We went to the PHX location before we ordered ours. Very cool showroom. They have a bunch of rooms with beds in them with their mattessses and you can close the room to just lay on the bed to check it out. The people that work there are not pushy at all and basically just there to answer questions about the mattress.

We have their pillows as well and really like them.

I am hot natured but do not find it to make me hotter. It is very very comfortable until it is time to turn over. The indention where I was laying stays for a few minutes. Feels like I am sleeping on the side of a hill.

i'm hot natured too but my Ghost mattress doesn't make me hot at all. It has a latex foam on top and it really does help me from getting hot.

everything I read about memory foam mattresses said that the thicker the better on them and I used my old box spring.

We bought a memory foam hybrid with cooling gel. It was a knock off brand of a tempurpedic (mack-o-pedic if you are familiar with gallery furniture in houston). I liked the hybrids more than the full memory foam. Felt like you sank into memory foam too much. I cannot sleep in another bed now without having something to complain about. I can't wait to get back to my bed.

I had an Englander from 2005-2015. It was excellent. It was double sided so you could flip and rotate. Now I have a Serta and it's pretty damn good as well. Only one sided like almost all today, but still soft and cradles. Never found the right Tempurpedic for me. Too stiff everytime I tried them.

Bought a latex mattress a couple of months ago and have been sleeping great on it. Doesn't get hot and has good bounce for extracurricular activities (problem for foam).

Check the current issue of Consumer Reports, they have a big article on mattresses.

I don't have one but friends of mine have a King-sized Purple. They chose it over my Leesa, which I let them try, because the Purple sprang back when depressed a little faster (the Leesa is slight more traditional memory foam-ish in response).

They found out that you have to use the t-shirt style(?) sheets that are stretchier in order to really get the benefit of the squishy top layer. I personally wasn't a fan because I could feel the individual boxes of the top layer when I tried it, but then again, I haven't actually slept a night on it, either.
