Its sad that this has gotten 30 upvotes for what is a lie. Both of the mens bball SEC games in which we suck and the opponent suck have outdrawn gymnastics one of which was a weeknight. Hell the only home OOC weekend game was vs Texas southern and had similar attendance. The gymnastics team is #2 in the nation on a weekend in a top 10 matchup. The fact that it is close is an indictment on Jones but even still it isnt true.

SEC basketball average 7740 we suck and the teams we played suck and everyone knows it. Not gonna waste time including others because I dont care that much.
Our nationally number #2 ranked Gymnastics with a weekend to 10 matchup 7600 and like someone else mentioned has cheaper tickets.
Now it is pathetic that its close but if gymnastics "packs out the house" I guess bball has the fire marshall standing at the doors preventing people from coming in.

Similarly, it's hard for me to believe anyone cares about LSU basketball. I saw on the Rant that they were blown out today, but I never bothered to see if the game was on television.

Oh I wholly admit that ladies gymnastics coach should never make as much as a men's basketball coach.... Nothing to do with the gender just as you stated the revenue generation of the sport
However, I don't feel that that's what the OP was doing.... I feel like he was basically saying that Johnny Jones is not earning the money that he's being paid.... While probably our hardest working coach on campus doesn't earn a great deal comparatively although his figure was wrong and she has gotten a raise from that figure.
So, while I understand your point of the salary should never be comparable. I don't feel it is a great reason to demean or diminish A Team and a coach and an entire fan base of the sport at LSU
Especially not a sport with a coach who works as hard for her team as does DD Breaux, as well as, a team that is a National Power in their Sport and is trending upward over the last several years
