I'm very hopeful based on what's been said on premium boards and your confidence on Harris. Thanks for clarifying brother

I mean, at some point the player/family has to be able to think for themselves. If he would rather go to that shite show at a&m, more power to him. If he can't see the opportunity at Lsu with the need for rb....and the fact that at some point soon, sumlin continuing to underperform will cost him his job...then maybe Lsu isn't the place for him. That said, you may be full of shite, so who knows.
THIS is where 'business decisions' should be made. Emotion/Ego vs career possibilities.

oh, I agree. BOTH the coaches and recruits have business decisions to be made.

LSU made the smart one going after Akers knowing they might not have the numbers for both him and Etienne.

I'm just saying it's Etienne's turn to make that business decision. Do you let ego steer you away from LSU because LSU did what it had to do, or not; if not, your chances at getting stats and development to go to the NFL increase at LSU vs TAMU, at least at this point in time.

yeah, he should have been offered long ago whether Akers was coming or not. I remember some one posted a while back that he played just one play on defense in a game last season and on that play intercepted the ball and returned it for a TD. He is just to good a football player and athlete to not have been offered early on.

Well, you're right! He was a fall back plan because as soon as Akers committed to FSU then LSU offered him. They disrespected this kid, if he chose A&M it wouldn't be stupid, it would be pay back for them being stupid. I felt like this kid should have been offered a long time ago.

Good Lord man. If you are emotionally immature enough to get offended by the fact that you were not offered early because of higher targets on the board there's a good chance you're probably not emotionally stable enough to play the game of football. At least LSU is honest about the position of their targets and doesn't play games with recruits.

What the hell are you talking about, man?? All I said was the kid should have been offered early on whether or not Akers was their guy because he is a helluva football player and deserved to be offered. And make no mistake about it, Akers was who LSU wanted, but this kid should have still got an offer and I been saying that on here for months. Emotions don't have shite to do with it, it's more about just being fair.

Everyone gets a trophy!

Etienne wouldn't have an offer if we got Akers.

You'd have people bashing O and the staff for offering him if Akers came here and suddenly it wasn't available and it "wouldn't be fair"

Choosing a college for this reason would be the definition of stupid.

If he wanted "payback" then he should come in and perform at a level that everyone looks at the coaching staff and wonders how in the hell it took them that long to offer.

If LSU is his dream school, then you jump on that chance. If he actually wants to go to aTm, then that is what he should do.

That said, compare the RBs that have come out of LSU in the past 5-7 years versus the ones at aTm. History would say that he is better served going to his "dream school" and not aTm.

So our competition is aTm and Tennessee. 2 dumpster fires vs a top program with a ton of momentum right now. Man, that's a tough one.

Did Miles offer CEH? I think we'd all agree it would've been better to offer Etienne early and have CEH as a fallback for Akers.

Well, if any kid signs with another school in order to "show LSU a lesson" (as you put it) then he is a dumbass.

Would he rather have been led along and given a dong and dance by LSU only to have his scholly offer pulled if LSU got Akers? Sounds to me like the LSU coaches were very honest in recruiting Ettienne. If he wants see how going to A&M works out for someone who "shows LSU a lesson" then he needs to have a chat with Speedy Noil.

I'm with you. You either want to be a tiger or you don't. If these kids really believe they are the single most important recruit...they are dumbasses to begin with. Sadly, most aren't smart enough to see the games these coaches play, nor are their families. Who was the recent 3 star that reopened his recruitment because Lsu wasn't making him feel special enough. I'm sorry, I don't want that mentality. Sounds like a woman tbh. I hope he gets his head right, understands the bigger picture, and turns out to be a great tiger. If not, he is tiger bait.

Sadly, many just aren't sharp enough to weed through the bs games they get from other coaching staffs. They make a kid feel special, then as soon as he steps on campus, just another tackling dummy...unless you have major talent like LF. Hopefully this kid/family is smart enough to see past this.
