Some of y'all keep saying LSU was honest with him, how the hell do you know that?? Answer is you don't! Are you on the staff?? The kid wouldn't have made a comment like the one he did about realizing he was their back up plan to Akers. And no, he wouldn't be a dumb arse, if the kid is talented and this kid is talented it does not matter what damn school he signs with because his talent would still take over and shine through. Only you clowns seem to think he should be fortunate LSU offered him. Lol LSU should be fortunate he never committed to some school early already and is still there available to them. Y'all can say whatever the hell you want, LSU clearly wanted Akers and after he spurned them for Florida St then the offer comes in for Etienne. Shoulda been offered a long time ago.

Dude thats how fricken recruiting works. Until things start to shake out you can't just offer every swinging dick in the country a scholarship.

yes you're right his talent will shine through wherever he goes and LSU is fortunate he's still undecided, but this mess starts with frank wilson who has been known of travis and offered all the backs in this class but him and went to utsa and offered travis immediately, so yes LSU was put in a tough spot being that ceh committed and they had offers on table for akers who they were scared to run off by offering travis etienne...travis is a 17yr old kid maybe he wont let it phase his recruitment maybe he will but his future is bright regardless and he's ready to contribute wherever he goes LSU shouldnt have been so stuck up akers arse when louisiana breeds the best

It should be a huge deal to be offered by LSU at any time. And the way Lsu uses rb's, he will get playing time instantly. At ATM, he would get whipped by us every year and wouldn't get the recognition like he would here. We put out a lot of rb's in the NFL.

And no, we can't give out offers to everyone. We gotta wait til we find out if our dream pick wants to come here first. Do you think Bama offers 4 stars along with every single 5 star? No, they probably go after the big boys, then go after the next greatest thing.
I think LSU should start out every season offering every single 5 star recruit like osu and Bama do. Who knows, it might pay dividends

He said " you CAN'T offer every swinging dick" can you not read very well, or do you just pick and choose which words you want to use to try and make your point valid?

Yes, Bama offered him to play DB not RB. I'm thinking he is a LSU Tiger next season.

This is such a ridiculous argument. LSU offered Akers as the top 1-2 RB in the nation. They have limited scholly's and multiple positions of need. They were certainly interested in Etienne. This was no slight to him. That spot came available and they immediately offered him. Sounds to me like he was high on their RB list.

If he can't see the opportunity to come in at LSU, have a huge impact and position himself for the next level here I don't know what to say.

That's not happening at A&M. Sorry.

i hope he sees things that way but when youre the top back in lousiana and you get offers from every top school in the SEC but the one in your state i can see anyone taking it personal...bama wasnt worried about najee when they offered neither was any other school I feel LSU should never let any outsider hold them and our instate talent hostage to their situations we BREED the best backs...

Either way, I hope we close the deal and Travis is a Tiger.

etienne would excell really well at lsu if he decided on lsu. but its his decision, hope he stays in louisiana, that would further his future in the right place. najee harris, come on that guy a lock to michighan silently. if he even thinks bout signing papers to bama, its guaranteed he will not see serious play time till souphemore yr possibly junior yr. hope he dont screw his career either. maybe im wrong but thats what will happen

Well, you're right! He was a fall back plan because as soon as Akers committed to FSU then LSU offered him. They disrespected this kid, if he chose A&M it wouldn't be stupid, it would be pay back for them being stupid. I felt like this kid should have been offered a long time ago.

That's how recruiting works and these kids know it. If you were offered your dream job only because someone else turned it down, would you turn it down too because it wasn't offered to you first? No, you would take the job and thank the person who turned it down in front of you. Otherwise, you wouldn't have it at all.

If a kid chooses a school because he's butthurt, it is absolutely stupid.

Most of these blue chip guys are thinking 2 things:

Where can I win?

Who's going to put me in the league?
