I guess all Samsung 8 series have these issues, but I really don't mind it. Like you said, it's happens every once in a while when I mainly watch streaming content from Kodi, Netflix, Amazon, etc. If I'm watching a Blu-Ray movie, then it's absolutely stunning with no issues. By far the best picture I've ever had on any TV I've owned. Also, any 4k content is phenomenal to say the least. The light bleed is very minimal from the edge/corners of mine.
Just curious, any idea why Samsung would decide to go with an edge lit instead of backlit for such an expensive TV?

Cost. Their flagship model has full array backlighting.

Agree with all of this. There are a number of 4k videos on youtube that are just unbelievable to look at. And watching the revenant uhd blu ray on the xbox one s just looks incredible.
