The first deer I shot at with a bow was way worse than that.
I had a PSE jr bow and had a doe broadside about 40 yards.
I managed to pull back and as soon as I saw brown in the peep sight I let that bastard fly
I was way closer than I thought but it looked like I shot a rainbow at her.
Deer ducked, stood back up, arrow landed under her, she proceeded to eat in the food plot at 45ish yards until dark. Taunting me.

That's awesome wick. Hate he missed the opportunity, but at least you know he loved it. I think that's obvious lol.

I don't deer hunt anymore either but I remember this moment like it was yesterday
about 8 yrs old in a slough off the buffalo river near ft Adams
I had a youth model Ithaca 20 ga with a rifled slug
A big doe jumped out in front of us maybe 20 feet away
my dad said "shoot!" and time and that doe stood still
I was shaking so hard I couldn't pull the trigger
I can see him, that doe, and that slough just as it happened even 40 years later
