I know he does morning radio, but I watch his stuff on Periscope mostly. I don't agree with a lot of what he says, but at least he goes all in with his opinions and isn't PC with everything like almost all on the mothership.

I am curious what the board thinks of him.

Clay gets ripped on these boards as a troll, which he is. However, he was the number one media guy taking down Mizzou for their bizarro butthurt SJW behavior when pretty much no one other than Whitlock did so.

I hear this constantly on this board or twitter and I can't figure out why. The guy is a former lawyer that went to Vandy for law school. He's extremely intelligent. His arguments are always thoroughly explained and backed by facts.

-Was the first media guy as you said to speak up on the fake Missouri protests.
-He calls out BLM and Kaepernick constantly
-He wrote articles nearly a year ago about the sports rights tv bubble being real for ESPN
-He crushed Joe Mixon and the Oklahoma administration yesterday
-He called for Briles to be fired months before it happned

It goes on and on. He says things that most sports media are scared to speak up on. Is that what makes him a troll? I'm honestly curious.

He does do this, but its honestly less annoying than the constant hot takes of the day than the Mike and Mikes and Bromanis of the world.

I think it's his presentation of those things that turn people off the most. I've always liked clay.

He did. He also immediately spoke up on Jeremy Foley and Florida using a hurricane to dodge LSU. If you remember the day it happened the general consensus of the national media was it was LSU's fault. He was the first guy saying no wait this benefits Florida as their entire team is injured plus the tie breaker with Tennessee etc etc. LINK

+1 I think he's great, but I can understand if others don't like him. My carpoolers (non sports fans) have mentioned several times they think he's a douche.

One of the most arrogant guys out there. He owns it though.

I had just started listening to Outkick recently. His arrogance gets tiresome. Last show I listened to he threw shots at Dave Portnoy. No one talks about Prez like that.

Everyone calls him a troll but who's a better option? He's far and away the best and strongest opinion in the sports world.

I don't agree with all his takes, but at least he states where his opinions come from.

Not to mention the guy's picks ATS are 59% the last 2 years, free and easily verifiable.

We've still got ESPN posting personalities with straight up records, oh wow you all think the Browns lose? Here's your participation trophy.

edit: Yes, he's very arrogant, so what does that rustle your jimmies?

He's not a troll. Trolls don't believe what they say. This guy fully believes what he's saying. So I can respect that.

Years before he went full twitter troll. He used to steal most of his CFB hot takes from writers of SBNation and other outlets. I can remember Spencer Hall throwing a few jabs at him for doing so and he had no response back.

I do find it hilarious that he blocks anyone on twitter who mentions the relation between Eddie George and his current wife. Especially when that dude loves to call other people cuck on social media.

Meh...he likes attentions and replies on twitter. I don't think he fully believes anything that he puts out there nowadays. But I do believe he loves attention.

I think his list of the worst fanbases in sports counts as trolling. I think that probably gave him some of his reputation.

I don't listen to the radio show but I do always listen to the periscopes that he puts on iTunes. The more I listen to him the more I seem to like him though. He's arrogant, but most of the time he's right.
