I ordered something from eBay for Christmas for the wife and it came from Australia. USPS is showing it arrived in NYC on December 9th at their processing facility and it has had no activity on the tracking number since then.

Am I fricked? I've been on hold with USPS for 20 minutes.

Yes.

This happened to me with a gift to my son, and it ended up showing up in February.

My wife order a toy on Nov 24th. Current USPS scan shows that it is at current origin (China) for departure dated Dec.1. No movement or activity yet and still no package. WTF.

I ordered something that was overseas made. You should have info from Pilot Freight services.

Sometimes it shows no activity then it just shows up at your house. This also happens with the parcel services.

Its in customs baw. That's next level frickery right there. They can place penalties on international shipments and hold it until a responsible party (will depend on how purchasing agreement is worded) pays said levied penalty.

This is why many ebayers say no to international shipping...it's a major PItA.

Unless ABSOLUTELY necessary, buy shite from N. America only.

A frigging sterling silver watch clasp sat in customs for 2 wks from London. It sux dix.

USPS is the worst of the worst. Don't expect anything resembling customer service

Be lucky it's in NYC customs and not Chicago customs. Anything I've ordered that landed in NYC was out in 3-7 days. Chicago consistently 8-10 days. Next time pay the extra $$$ for FedEx or UPS if offered. British Royal mail delivery to USPS was 17 days. Derby, England to Louisiana via FedEx was 2 days. Shipped Tuesday and arrived Thur 1030 in the morning.

Exact same thing happened to me... on the ninth. Vendor said the item shipped and gave me a tracking number. It didn't show up in their system until today. The package was shipped from NOLA and arrived 30 miles away 7 days later.

At least you now know the exact day on which your package was stolen.

I uploaded and ordered a print from Shutterfly on 12/5. Order was processed and sent via UPS. The package arrived at USPS in Baton Rouge on 12/10 or about 15 miles from where I live.

And it has been "stuck" or "missing" since then.

I absolutely cannot stand our postal service.

Sometimes it has to do with the actual carrier. If its coming from Australia then a third party carrier like dhl might be involved and especially this time of year it may take some extra time to get in the usps' possession.

I ordered a baby gift a couple christmases ago from Jacksonville...fricking took 3 weeks to get to br because it sat at the transfer facility in Dallas for days. It can be even trickier if you live in a rural zone.

Hope it's something like this and no Newman shenanigans.
