There's already plenty of teams with various types of white people as mascots
Fighting Irish
Demon Deacons
Rebels
Buccaneers/ Pirates
Patriots
Cornhuskers
Mountaineers
etc..
Some of those are offensive stereotypes but nobody cares about that

We ran into a group of protesters outside of wrigley for the World Series (along with some old hippie lady with a "Water is Life" sign). It seemed like it was more of the latter.

I have worked with several native guys out here and they have all told me they arent particularly bothered by the name itself, and that there are far greater issues facing their people than the name of a sports team
