I'd take day trips to places like Chattanooga. The Jack Daniels distillery tour in Lynchburg is only about an hour away. It's actually interesting to kids too.

Definitely not a vacation destination. Going with the family for Christmas. Thanks for the suggestions everybody.
We have planned to go see Star Wars at the theatre. I've always wanted to make that trip up to Jack Daniels distillery. We might hit that up.
