Sweetheart... The trails start separate, then join behind the plane. Since they are separate condensation trails, they sometime separate from each other due to atmospheric conditions.

a plane produces contrails because hot gasses exhaust into ultra cold atmoshpere causing immediate condensation into visible water vapors

plane designers spent a decade designing the air bus to get every last drop of mileage out of the fuselage and the engines....now do you think plane companies are going to carry an extra liquid (liquids are dense and heavy) in this case your nonexistent chemicals in fuel storage and plumbing secretly designed and hidden away from technicians, pilots that visually inspect their planes, manual trouble shooting authors, engineers that actually help build the plane.
