Education does not equal being treated humanely on a personal level.

Muslims are an extremely small minority right now. The ones that come here are generally wealthy and have marketable skills, or they come here as college students and then have marketable skills. The many without any education or skills can't come here yet unless they are refugees. But the refugees generally don't have skills that would be effective in the US and they speak no English, so they would be highly likely to be part of the welfare state

That doesnt change the associated demographics and profile of a militant islamist? Look, normal muslims have a shitty deal in the US right now. But the fault for that isnt on every suspicious or concerned american. I think you incorrectly assign blame to those reacting, instead of those causing said reaction.

The neighborhood next to mine in Brooklyn (Bay Ridge) has the highest concentration of Muslims in all of NYC, and the violent crime rate in that zip code in 2014 was the lowest of all zip codes in NYC.

As we speak many highly educated Muslims in Iran are working on the bomb so that they can assimilate my atoms with the atmosphere! There is a big difference between English literature 101 and advanced improvised explosive devices 304. All levels of education are accepted into the Jihad. Yes, you can't paint the entire group of Muslims, but a disproportionate percentage wants to do our country harm. You cannot discount that fact and it supports a level of skepticism on the part of Americans (or at least the non nieve ones).
