Trump doesn't seem to understand the one China policy or maybe thinks he's defying Obama.

But if its a worthless policy why did all of the republican presidents since Carter follow it?

Why is it no big deal that we sell them loads of military equipment?

Or, maybe, he's telegraphing a potential abandonment of the policy as leverage against the mainland.

I admittedly am not a foreign policy expert but comparing a President's foreign policy to another 30 years apart seems foolish.

I completely support a "One China" policy.
We should support and encourage Taiwan to retake the Mainland!

If Bush and Clinton didn't give nukes to Iran, why did Obama do it?

In 2008 Obama claimed that he would engage the Iranians.

That was considered verboten at the time but I bet you were up at the front of the line cheerleading him for it.

But this lack of understanding will somehow, magically make America great again. Not everyone can follow the 'logic"

Wow. Another low information poster.

It's not a different policy....it's the exact same one.

I don't know. Maybe there was a larger global conflict that we were involved in that made us highly sensitive to pissing off the chicoms. Hmmmmmmm

I don't know man.

Why did Clinton park a couple of aircraft carriers in the Taiwan Stait when China started acting aggressive towards Taiwan?

Reagan was pretty supportive of Taiwan. Not sure what you're talking about.

Reagan nor his administration formally communicated with Taiwan.

Obama sold $1.8B in arms to them a year ago. Whether we make a phone call to them is the kind of diplomatic shuck and jive that's largely nonsense.

So you're saying a congratulatory phone call is considered a formality?
