My point was if you think Harris sucks and gives us no chance to get where we want to be, IMHO you should feel the same about Etling
Does that make sense? I know it is a convoluted point, but my point is not that harris should have played this season
I saw enough games of the regressed version of Harris to have no confidence that he could regain the form of the original version of Harris, which was undoubtedly better than Etling, fwiw. I just had no reason to think I'd see that Harris again.

quote:40% under Harris
3rd down efficiency would be a good marker for comparison.
46% under Etling
Someone also posted this in this thread which is pretty interesting:
quote:
Passing success rate (success rate= gaining 50% of required yardage on 1st down, 70% on 2nd, 100% on 3rd)
Harris: 37.6%
Etling: 42.1%
NCAA avg: 40%

These people saying Harris could hang with ealing, please stop the madness. You either don't know football I really you're blinded by your favor of Brandon. I pulled for Brandon but once etling took over I couldn't believe they had him sitting behind Harris. The first game he played in he completed balls to nine different players, thats a guy wjo sees the field, Brandon never did that, he was lucky to complete it to 3 players. Harris didn't have the composure to sit in the pocket and go through his progressions. Etling sustains drives, a lot more 3 and outs with Harris.

Which did not happen.... Why do you have such A problem seeing this...
You are NOW in the running for the biggest attention whore this site has ever seen.....

I can't find 3 and out percentage, but we averaged exactly .07 punts per play in both 2015 and 2016

Etling performed on the field something Harris could never do. This is an open and slam dunk case Etling has earned it and deserves to be the starter going forward. Hopefully Harris transfers!!

Face it bud... your thread may have reached 20 something pages but you have failed to produce even ONE reason why Harris should even be a factor...

While the differences in these numbers appear slight. They are the difference in staying on the field and allowing playmakers to uktilnatley make plays. And the result has been huge offensive numbers .

quote:Again, to be fair, before he regressed, Harris performed better than Etling, so that's not entirely true.
Etling performed on the field something Harris could never do.

You couldn't find 3rd down conversions you mean? Believe what you want but Brandon just can't handle the moment, nothing against him, good kid, look at end of Wisconsin game and you'll have your answer. He panicked and made an awful decision and throw.

Etling was greatly helped out by throwing for 300+ yards against TAMU. Really the stats are even closer than they appear on here
WTF does this even mean? You're just pointing out that he had a complete/great game (300+ yards passing, multiple TDs, a completion percentage of 70%+ and 0 turnovers) that hasn't happened in over 13 years (Mauck vs. La Tech in 2003, FYI).
Also, his numbers vs. Alabama severely hurt his stats. It can go both ways, dumbass.

Exactly you can't say he was helped out by something he accomplished wtf kind of knock is that? It's not like somebody els threw for all those yards and then Etling got credit for it he wasn't helped he produced those numbers himself. Some ppl will say anything to sound right.

And don't forget Harris had the advantage of starting 5 rent a win games 4 against teams who not only were awful but didn't even have a starting QB. He also failed to throw for 100 yards in 3 of those games highlighted by a 4-14 games vs one of the worst defenses in the country. So I'm not sure when harris was ever trending up but I do know if you look at Etling after coach O took over and he was comfortable in the offense his numbers blow anything Harris has done over any stretch in his career out of the water. Plus his ability to hurt defenses with the pass has helped the run game illustrated by numerous records set by our offense since he's been the Qb.

Etling poured his heart out for his team. After the AU game, looking at Etling, I was 100% sure he gave his all. Every team knocked the shite out of him every game yet he'd still keep his composure and not point fingers.
He has amazing pocket presence, ability to create plays with his feet while not being a spaz like Harris and he's natural leader.
One of my all-time favorite Tigers already and most of yall can gfy for shitting on me when I wanted Etling over Harris from beginning

Amen brother I'm with you 100%.
Look at what he's done since hey bey bey took over.
104/169 61.5% 1473yards 210.4ypg 6tds 3ints passer rating 142.9 in 7 games 6vs the SEC if anyone wants to throw Harris SEC numbers up against that be my guest.

My god. Enough already.
Comparing any miles coached quarterback is ridiculous and a waste of time.
I wish them both the best of luck but this constant dick measuring between these two has grown old and tired.
Harris is probably moving on to another school which is understandable. He'll probably receive the coaching he should have and go on to light it up. And as a fellow teammate I'm sure he's wishing Etling the best right now.
There's a reason this thread is down voted to high heaven. It's time to move on.
