Looks visually stunning. Been waiting for this movie since Scorsese first started talking about it back around 2008 or 2009.

This looks cool as hell.
Love historical dramas.
Reminds me of Shogun (which still holds up)

It has Andrew Garfield, so I expect half of this board to shite on this movie just like they did with Hacksaw Ridge.

The trailer looks really, really good. If you read the story behind the movie, Scorsese has been wanting to make this since the early 90s.
I also read that Ken Wantanabe was originally cast as the priests' interpreter but had to drop out. I would have loved to have seen Watanabe in this movie.

Well if that makes you sad, you're going to hate to hear that Daniel Day Lewis and Benicio Del Toro were also originally cast around 4 years ago, but the production hit a few delays and they ended up dropping out.

That is almost as bad as Eddie Murphy backing out of Ghostbusters

I just went back and searched and it seemed like the consensus was Hacksaw Ridge was good. I enjoyed it myself

It's a Scorsesee historical drama. It's going to be amazing by default.
Plus it's a passion project for him. He's been trying to make this movie for decades

Looks really good. And Adam Driver and Andrew Garfield have to be considered to be among the best actors under the age of 35....

I bet Adam Driver dropped like 25 pounds for this one. And he didn't exactly have 25 pounds to drop.

Ahhh yes. Ken Wantanabe. The white mans guide through all things Asian. You will recognize him for his roles as "oh yeah, that guy...i like him" and "Asian businessman" and less we forget "Stoic and paternal Asian general". Here's to you Ken Wantanabe.

Guaranteed to be better than The Wolf of Wall Street, Scorsese's worst movie ever.

Saw a YouTube comment that said it reminded them of "There Will Be Blood" the music and hoe its shot... I must say I agree. It has that same coldness/visually striking cinematography.
Love when Scorsese does historical pictures too.
