Metal Recommendations

In the past few years I have really begun to branch out with my taste in metal. I have discovered several of the more extreme subgenres and now I'm beginning to look for some new acts to gravitate towards.
What are some full-length albums you would suggest listening to aside from the "usual suspects"?
I'm really looking for subgenres apart from thrash and traditional heavy metal. I love both of them, but I've pretty much explored all that they have to offer.

Although they may be considered "usual suspects," I recommend Tool for full albums.

I will never fault someone for suggesting one of my favorite bands.
I've seen them twice this year and I already have the EP and four LPs.
But I do appreciate the input.

Burzum
I'm trying to figure out what I think of Burzum.
The low-fi quality is both endearing and abominable. It is truly astonishing that one man could arrange so many albums in such a short period of time.
On the other hand, Varg's extracurricular affairs make me a little reluctant to support such a fricked up individual.

Devin Townsend Project - Deconstruction

I've been digging Ghost lately, and Islander, Of Monsters and Men, Bring the Horizon, Alter Bridge, ect, but I'm no font of contemporary metal knowledge. I typically stick to the classics: Metallica, Iron Maiden, Pantera, Tool, ect.
Not a big fan of stuff like Anal count and Job For A Cowboy.

Periphery, Sikth, Between the Buried and Me, Northlane, ERRA, Architects, Dillinger Escape Plan. All of those are prog bands (my favorite subgenre) except for Architects.

I've heard Deconstruction is a pretty whack album overall. I know it has guest appearances from a number of highly-esteemed musicians in the metal community.

I just recently purchased Alaska and The Great Misdirect after seeing them live in September.
They're admittedly not a band I can listen to everyday, but I so impressed with their overall musicianship.

Coma Ecliptic which they released last year is a fantastic album that anyone can listen to at anytime even if you hate metal. Just fantastic.

Amplifier is pretty solid and on the border of metal. They remind me a lot of Deadwing era Porcupine Tree.
Amplifier (Live in Berlin)
Strapping Young Lad - Far Beyond Metal (Live in Australia)

Does Opeth count?
If so, then Opeth all the way.

Epitaph by Necrophagist is legit, too.

I don't know what you're counting as usual suspects, but perhaps listen to an album by In Flames. And there's always GWAR.
