Seriously ive never understood this concept, they're bad for everything. They trash the city, are sometimes belligerent, and are always asking for shite. And if you help them out they multiply like fleas.#rant

Have you tried telling them to just go home?

In a city the size of Houston or LA, what would you suggest they do about it? How many law enforcement resources would you commit to this instead of actual policing?

You can do it temporarily, like Houston will before the Super Bowl. But it's a losing battle you'll never win.

Because country folk don't cotton to hobos and bums. You come a begging around the homestead and you'll end up as crawfish bait.

Ive always wondered why foreign governments/terrorists groups just dont go around bribing homeless people to commit acts of terror or murders or riots etc

because farmers just shoot them. And the sexual harassment in white suburbia by bored fantasizing mothers is quite disturbing.

Are you saying that we should not allow them to sleep?

Or are you saying that we should forcibly relocate homeless people to the wilderness?

Mitch is trying to put section 8 housing all over Nola and erect nobarrier homeless crack dens everywhere. So maybe they won't be. They'll be next door to you and your children rather than harmelssley under an overpass

So who is it trashing all the rest of the state?

I stopped picking up the trash in the right of way and ditch as there would be fresh trash the same day (not even wait for night to fall). Now it gets mulched when the state comes around and brush hogs the roadsides. (I am not ruining my machines maintaining the roadside when the last 2 times the state left gravel and chunks of asphalted rocks and concrete in the ditch). I've even got a brand new looking plastic trash can from the roadside, appears to have never been used except to leave on the roadside.

We feel bad for them. But not bad enough to pay for rehab/mental health treatment.

What is this "allow" thing?

If you had a reasonable solution, I'm sure urban governments all over would love to hear it.

Blame your local and state government. Other states actually pay for bus tickets of their homeless to send them to cities like Los Angeles or New Orleans because those local governments have a laxed policy regarding the homeless

I honestly think institutionalisation needs to become a thing again.

Not how it was in the 30's and 40's and what not, but we've swung too far the other way. There are too many chronically mentally ill people on the streets that shouldn't be.

We need to have a compassionate way of helping take care of them, but we need not do so at the expense of our general population

I don't see the point of keeping them awake. What would that solve? I like them better asleep than awake anyway

I think people shouldn't feed them or give them money. There should be shelters/soup kitchens away from the city. Its not mean or dark, you just cant harrass me everytime i walk the block and scream obscenities. And im tired of seeing them suffer when they dont have to.
