Toilet backing up into bathtub

Trying to unclog now. What kind of plumbing bill could I be looking at?

not sure of the bill, but that means there is a clog in one of the common lines under the house or in the line to the street. shouldn't be all that big a deal if there are cleanout plugs around the house for access.

shite in the tub. That should counteract the flow.

Keep flushing, eventually you'll break through the clog.

You have to go outside, find your home's sewage pipe and roto-rooter it...you have a BIG backup.
Don't run the dishwasher. Don't run the washing machine.

Why do you live in central Florida?

It's not your toilet.
It's hard to say without being there but it's possible that your connection at the street is blocked or just past your connection is blocked. Which could mean that what's backing up into your tub isn't "yours". Could be your neighbors sewage as well.

First make sure your check valve to the city system in not clogged. Happened to me once. The rubber gasket expanded preventing it from working.
Is that the only place it is doing that? Does the toilet flush normal or the swirl different?
Also, if the vent pipe on the roof is clogged, your toilet will not flush normal.

This is what happens when you wipe your arse with baby wipes and flush em!

Find your clean out and open it--rent a power rooter at any equipment place or Home Depot store with a rental department.

There's a number of comments here about your main line being backed up - that is possible - but it is also possible that there is a clog not too far past your bathtub.
This happened to me at my old place. The plumber came in, looked at it for about three seconds, got one of those spinning metal hose things that they stuff down the pipe, proceeded to stuff it down the bathtub drain, did his thing, and in about five minutes had the drain unclogged. He basically charged me the minimum service charge (one hour) because he wasn't there more than 20 minutes.

We had that happen. Thought sure our kid had flushed some hot wheels down the drain but he never buckled under interrogation.
Turned out a root had grown through a pipe in the front yard backing up the water draining. Easy fix.
Apologized to the kid and got him an icee for the trouble.
