Ok, getting ahead of things, I know...

But if LSU were somehow to run the table, beating 6 consecutive games to end the regular season, and then a ranked opponent in the SEC-CG (likely Tenn in this scenario), and then sneak into the playoffs, and win 2 games there to win it all, that would be a run for the ages, with 5 + 1 + 2 = 8 consecutive VICTORIES FOR LSU over ranked teams to win the national championship...

Edit: Oops....8 games. not 9, corrected

Would that run of wins outdo the 2011 run, which was the best regular season in college football history?

It'd be 8, not 9.

No they won't. They'll be talking about Coach O being amazing after inheriting two losses from Les Miles.

Stop with this woe is me everyone hates LSU stuff. It's fricking pathetic.

Well, 2011 ended with 1/9/12. So if we win it all this year, of course this year would best 2011. Also, if we do end up running the table and winning the championship, this season would be even more special than 2007 for me, because this is my first season with my own season tickets.

You do know the regular season does not include the playoffs right?

We have 5 games left, not 6.

6 + 1 + 2 = 9

But it would be 5 + 1 + 2 = 8

Not with 2 losses.

And I would revel in it for eternity.

"the media would refer to it for infinity as another 2-loss LSU National Championship." Jesus jumped up and down Bert, a fairly large portion of the LSU fanbase here on the rant go on and on about the 2007 team "lucking" into the National Championship game. If you pay attention, you see people on here all the time pissing all over that years Championship.

I personally don't care what the media (or other fans) say about 2 loss champions. LSU won their division and won the conference championship in 2007. They deserve that title. And if this years team can pull it off, it will be well deserved as well. Just my opinion.

No. We beat at least 3 top 5 teams and more top 10.

Several of those will not finish the season ranked. 2011 LSU beat 3 teams that won BCS bowl games (ironically, one was against us ) and 2 other 10-win teams.

It remains to be seen if Arky, Florida, or Ole Miss can hit 10 wins. I can see all three missing the mark.
