Sorry but 0 finals appearances during that time does not say "elite" to me.

3rd out of 30 is 90% percentile. Not sure how you could say 90% percentile isn't elite. but hey you obvi define elite different from most.

Elite teams compete for championships not regular season winning percentage and least amount of losing seasons in a year range of your choice.

wow this actually hurts to say....I agree with Boom

As a Pelicans fan,I would like it if my team was almost assured of making the playoffs every year in the west.

Or at least in the hunt.

I can't believe I'm saying this but i'm gonna side with boom on this one

1. The rockets have improved. They added Gordon and the Anderson, they have a real coach now and they got rid of the cancer.

2. The spurs are a year older, coming off the oldest team in the NBA. Parker is 34. Gasol is 36. Manu is 39. They have no one who can create for themselves off the dribble outside of Parker and Murry who is a rookie. Their best post player in the playoffs last year now plays for the Golden State Warriors.

I mean, I can see it. I'm not saying it will happen but to think like the spurs are unbeatable this year in the southwest reeks of people who can't come ot their own conclusions and get 100% of their information from bill simmons and what he thinks. it's very possible.

Boom was the first guy on here saying they were going to fall off the shelf. I'm pretty sure I predicted it in the playoffs and was mocked because of the 67 wins. Now, a conference semi may not be conclusive evidence of that, but Timmy's gone, Manu is at the end, Parker is close, and now we have Aldridge friction. Not good signs, though they probably won't be any worse than a 4 seed.

The rookie won't play much and Parker is a below average starting PG. They will need big time years out of Green, Mills, and Anderson. Front court is maybe the worst in the league when it comes to athleticism and defense.

All that being said they will still win a lot of games because guys know their role and they play a nice team game.

you mean what he says all the time? He was bound to be right about the spurs once

Even last year, Tim was an elite defender. Losing him hurts. But I have a hard time finding a better front court in the league than Kawhi/Gasol/LMA. All 3 were All-Stars last season.

once Every year I said they weren't shite they either lost in rd 1 or rd 2. I wasn't screaming overrated when they were in the middle of title runs. There was a CLEAR difference in the title teams and the teams of the last 2 years if you are even a decent "eye test" kinda guy.
