There's no doubt most of us love Ed, his accent, and what he has done so far. He has brought much necessary change to the program, discipline to the players, less physical exhaustion at practice, and motivation for 2nd and 3rd stringers to give effort so they may actually play a snap or two in a game. Desean Smith was quoted saying yesterday that Les would run certain plays in practice but they would never get called in a game.

My condition for 100% keeping CEO is a win over Bama. That's what all of us around here would hope for in a new coach anyway, and it would put him on a whole new level nationally if he did. I want Aranda and Craig to stick around, but if these next few weeks don't go well, I think we should go all out for Herman but try to keep CEO on staff as a position coach.

A win over Ole Miss is also huge after what they did to us last year.

Jesus. the fact that it is in that order is a pretty damn good sign this move would fail. His accent? frickin frick.

Thats like, during your proposal to a woman, leading with "youre hot....and i like your personality....oh and i love you."

Too many fans want CEO to be a great coach rather than look at the facts. Just because he is from Louisiana and talks like us doesn't mean he's what is best for the program. Even if he beats Bama, do you really want him matching wits with Saban, Freeze, and Sumlin on a yearly basis? This is just fricking retarded.

Great man, great representative of the state, not a good fit for LSU as a long term solution.

Good final point! We didn't fire Miles to hire O. He's the interim. We need a REAL head coach.

Do y'all realize how pathetic y'all look in saying you're all in if he beats Bama? It makes you look like a complete bitch.

You think Bama looks at any team like the way LSU fans look at them? They are probably laughing at the OP.

Fire one of the most successful coaches in the past ten years, only to promote the career D-line coach?

Beating Bama this year wouldn't prove anything because this isn't his team. It's Miles's team that Ed didn't screw up.

Look at the last couple times LSU hired a coach. Saban turned around Michigan State. Les resurrected OK State. Ed hasn't done anything like that. I want our next coach to have a proven track record of that kind of success before he is handed the keys to an SEC program.

So your metric for your program is beating Bama?

they're the best team in the country right now and have been for the last several years. yeah i'd say being able to beat Bama on a consistent basis would mean our program would be doing pretty well.

So he has to beat the consensus #1 team in the country who many say is one of the best teams they have had in years to be considered for the head job?

If he ends the season with one loss and it is to Bama hats off he has to be the #2 choice.

Match wits? I'm sorry but has anyone given Les Miles credit over the years for his "wits" yet he dominated Sumlin, did so-so with Freeze, and obviously nobody matches wits with Saban.

Point being, with LSU willing to pay the most money in the entire country on assistants, I'm not overly worried about our HC "matching wits" as long as he allows his assistants to do their job.

he will have to win the SECCG to even have a shot over a coach like jimbo or herman or petrino or petersen, etc.

Don't say things like that. A middle tier NFL team would skull-drag Alabama. It's a completely different level of play.

LSU fans are going to have to realize the overwhelming public pressure (both internally in LA and externally around the country) to hire Ed Orgeron if he knocks off the nearly undisputed #1 team in almighty Alabama.

He couples that with a good showing with only 1 loss the rest of the way-the job is his. Argue with if he should have it or not, but you need to start coming to terms with that reality now.

but why NOT get the best X's and O's coach you can get? You know it cant hurt anything, and could definitely help.

I just dont get why you are willing to ignore football knowledge in lieu of a 'manager' type HC. If thats all we can get, then it COULD work, but we are not limited to that.

We just had a CEO type coach, it didnt work out so well the past few years. Let's go a different direction, like the rest of college football.

We did not have a CEO type. We had a coach who thought he was an offensive guru and heavily influenced the offense. That is not O.

O told Ensminger the general ideas that he wanted to run and left the rest up to him.

OLine rotation is up to Grimes. RB rotation is up to Juluke. WR rotation up to Craig.

If Coach O's redeeming quality over Les is that he let's his coordinators do their job, shouldn't Ensminger and Aranda get the credit for the wins? Not Coach O?

And if that's the case, i'm pretty sure i could be the HC. It's a do nothing job.

Yes to Aranda.

LSU needs a home run hire for an offensive coordinator. A hire on the same level as Aranda.
