Moore left today's game with a heel contusion and AD sprained his ankle. No report on Moore yet, but AD is in a walking boot and expected to miss the rest of preseason.
Update on page 2 - Moore's status is day to day.

I think he should just learn how to play in walking boots and just wear them all 82 games.

That'll be close to the opener.

Yep, Spears just posted an article and says he could miss it.

Davis stepped on the foot of Rockets center Nene Hilario while making a move toward the basket in the post with 6:37 left to play in the first quarter of the Rockets' 116-104 victory. Davis stayed in the game after a timeout, but he checked out for good at the 5:07 mark in the first. He went back to the locker room and did not return.
He declined comment and wore a boot on his injured foot as he walked out of the arena en route to a long flight back to New Orleans. His injury could jeopardize his availability for the Pelicans' season-opener on Oct. 26.

There's a tweet by Schuhmann that shows all of AD's injuries over his 68 missed games and it's kind of amazing. Can't copy because I'm on mobile, but here's the link to the tweet.

It's the variety of injuries that's most amazing.
Gordon had a variety of injuries too that let some of us think it wouldn't be an ongoing problem

Scott Kushner ?@ScottDKushner Davis came back in and moved with a slight limp up and down the floor. He's back out. #Pelicans
What in the frick is wrong with this team? How could anyone think it's a good idea to put him back in a preseason game after injuring himself?
Posted on 10/12/16 at 10:36 am to TigerinATL
I think we just need to admit he will never play a full season, and just live with his 60ish games a year.

At what point does his injury proneness make him tradeable?
I'm not there yet, but it's getting to that point.

Not going to get the type of return you want. Ride it til the ship burns.

A regime on the hot seat will not trade AD. Even a new GM next year might not be allowed to trade the biggest ticket seller.

sports are hard on bodies.
If I had it to do over, I would not play sports beyond PE.
right arm pitching hardball constant issue for me now
right shoulder tennis constant issue for me now
left knee basketball constant issue for me now.
had stress fractures from basketball but they eventually healed.

This would need to be a trade around the next draft for the timing to work but:
Pels:
Out AD
In Brooklyn Pick + Lakers Pick + Okafor
Boston
Out Isaiah Thomas, Jaylen Brown, Brooklyn Pick
In AD
Philly
Out Okafor, Lakers Pick
In Isaiah Thomas, Jaylen Brown
Some sweeteners, filler and maybe a 4th team might need to be added but that seems like a reasonable framework for a deal. Boston has the cap space to replace Thomas, maybe even with CP3 so I think they'd do it without thinking twice. I'm not sure if Philly would want Thomas and Brown, but I have to think the value is there for Okafor and the worse of their 2 top 5 picks, that's why you might need to get other teams involved.
For the Pels you end up with possibly 3 top 5 picks(NOP/LAL/BKN). Use 2 picks, draft the best PG and SF prospect, trade the other pick either to move up or for a future asset and you now have 4 top 10 picks and Diallo as the core of your starting 5 and a future asset you flipped the other pick for. That's a hell of a lot better place than they were in immediately after trading CP3. You don't even need a tear down year, you rebuild in one offseason.

I thought by coming to this forum there wouldn't be over reaction....I guess I was wrong.

Opposite. Mostly we are just having fun in the face of despair.
Its hard to deal with this crap again and again and again.

The only person that actually advocates trading AD on this forum is some guy from Kentucky that has wanted us to trade AD since he first started posting here. The rest of this is just preseason musings because there's nothing else to talk about.

This wasn't a dig at you personally. I just don't know how to start my own comment without replying.

AD's injuries can be explained like this:
-overly cautious his first two years
-played well enough without him his 3rd year to where we didn't need to rush him back
-we were going nowhere fast his 4th year
I don't think it's that serious
