Did Mike VI ever roar?
In the past, cheerleaders would bang on cage to get Mike to roar. I thought this was the tiger that hated the Mike in costume and he'd roar whenever the costumed Mike came too close.

I think the cheerleaders were forced to stop banging on Mike's cage to get him to roar because some animlal rights activist complained that it might hurt Mike's feelings. Didn't seem to bother any of the Mikes that I saw.

Yes, Mike V did NOT like the guy wearing the tiger costume. I witnessed that up close.
Around 1998, I was in the Mall of Louisiana with my then-2-year-old daughter. Mike V in his cage and the cheerleaders were there in the center of the mall doing their thing. We were standing about 10 feet away from the cage, where Mike was pacing back and forth.
The guy in the tiger costume walked up to us and shook my daughter's hand, while the real tiger watched him. As soon as the costumed tiger turned his back on the cage, the real tiger pounced against the bars of the cage, rocking it, and roaring three times very loudly.
It was probably the most frightening thing I've witnessed up close!

CONFIRMED!
Mike V would get pissed when he saw the costumed Mike approach his cage.
