Seriously. I never heard of fatigue as a reason for looking flat.

Moffett took a majority of the heat. Never dawned on Tiger Nation that practices were grueling and way to long.

I can see a situation where Les was pressing as the results diminished

Fans caused it

We used to be praised for how we could wear teams down and take over in the 4th. So I wonder if this is just a recent thing or if those players just handled longer practices better

We just had far better talent than most teams back then and much more depth.

It was mentioned to me by a OL's dad after the '05 season and the dad had been a college football player himself. This player had been a star on Saban's teams in '03-'04.

I'm pretty sure the NCAA limits the time you can make players work on football. I'm wondering if instead of extra practice time perhaps Coach O is spending more time in study.

Remember how everyone says about 2005, "man we had to play 10 straight games and got gassed." Maybe if we weren't beating on each other so much in that season, we don't get hammered by Georgia.

In hindsight, makes you wonder if this was a factor vs UTenn in '05. I know the hurricanes were a factor but the team went full fatigue in the 2nd half.

Exactly what I was told. It was especially tough on the linemen. Of course Les was an OL expert so it figures. Bo must have taught him that.

Long boring practices. Just like the games. It's probably more mentally tiring than physical doing things over and over at the same slow pace .You get stuck in that groove so that's how you play . Can you imagine. I get burnt out and tired after listening to Les's meaningless shite for 2 minutes

I think he was probably working harder, not smarter. Might've been overcompensating for how well-prepared other teams looked and took the wrong approach to try & fix it.

If practice length and intensity is a thing, the admin and fanbase may want to reconsider Herman as a choice.

Asked to describe the physical nature of Cougar practices, Adams said, "It's like beating your head against a wall for two and a half hours." The Cougars' Tuesday practice is referred to inside the football building as "Bloody Tuesday."

You know, I was part of an outstanding HS football team that had 6 D1 players. The defensive line was unbealivably stacked and we had an excellent QB.

Our coach would start walk-throughs at 1:30 [which was PE] and transition to full pads by 3:00. We wouldn't get home until 9-9:30 throughout the week. We also had a "light" practice on Sunday.

The first symtom was in-fighting. As the season progressed it got worse; fighting on every other scrimmage down. There was zero excitement in the locker room and guys constantly talked about "I'm ready for this to be over."

We started the year 7-0 and finished 7-3. We got blown out in the final game of the season by the worst squad in district - missed the playoffs.

So I can relate. I never realized it until years later that we had basically no food, no gatorade, no nutrients going into our bodies for that entire 7-8 hour period. I don't think that can be underestimated either.

That's 2.5 hours of speed and intensity and then it's probably over. I get the feeling of 5/6 hr practice sessions with Miles [but I'm guessing].
