Etling has at least as much talent as Coker did at bama.

He's got everything we need to win every game if the rest of the scheme and team around him play to their top potential.
He's no Heisman but he's good enough to win every game. I'm looking forward to seeing what ensminger and Craig come up with

LSU just needs Lane Kiffin to turn him into a national championship caliber QB

I like Etling a lot, but he doesn't have the arm strength of Coker. Etling has trouble throwing a deep ball, and a lot of them hang and float WAY too much. There were a couple of balls against Auburn I was scared were going to be picked, but the defenders never turned their head. I think Etling has great accuracy, just not the pure arm talent.

Lane's Louisiana Lagniappe just doesn't have the same ring as Kiffin's Krimson Korner.

No, he doesn't. He's not as strong running nor does he have the arm strength. Also, Coker was older. That can make a huge difference.

People seem to forget he missed a wide open Malachi Dupree on 2 occasions on the final drive. He is a decent qb but nothing that I have seen so far to believe he is a world beater......but we shall see.

If Etling was black we would hate him and his production, that's just the way it is, downvotes away
Coker was better in almost every category physically than Etling.
Coker was beat out by Winston. Etling was best out by a Purdue QB and Harris

I must add, I am hoping for the best. He looks to have good pocket awareness, I hope the coaching staff continues to build on it. If he loses to Missouri,,,,,,

Etling has been objectively quite poor unfortunately. After last game, there are legitimate doubts that he can even be a good game manager.
Before you flame me consider this:
1.) Objectively awful production (some drops but just as many off-target passes)
2.) Completely unforced turnover at a very critical time in a road game.
The sample size is small but let's not act like it is objectively positive. The guy can still get better though...

He has looked better in 2 games than Harris has in 2 years

Could Etling be compared to Tommy Hodson? I was to young to remember Hodson, but hearing my dad talk about him it sounds like Hodson was accurate but didnt have a NFL arm.
