Article says only 10 percent of the more than 500 pets rescued from the floods in Livingston Parish have been picked up. Hope y'all treat your kids better.

In Livingston Parish, most of those animals were probably running wild before the flood.

Give it one more week then start calling the Chinese restaurants. $1.50/lb should offset some of the costs

It's hard to get them if you're staying with family or something but I would at least contact the shelter and maybe give them a little money for keeping them.

I wasn't very fond of the dog anyway. if I known it would have caused this much grief, I would have brought him to the Chinese restaurant by my house

The only reason I'm still married is because I stayed behind to keep the animals alive. Wish the water wouldn't have come up so fast, I didn't have time to think it all through.

I am fostering 2 dogs and 2 cats for my friends who are living in rv's until they can fix their house. I have two cats that live inside so were tense for a few days. Now they all play together and it's been tight. Now I have 4 cats and 2 dogs that wake me up at 4:30 am instead my 2 cats (one licks me in the face and the other one walks back and forth meoooowwwwing until I get up).

They will be adopted out on the 26th if not claimed.
The rescue a friend works with has been putting up flyers, she returned 2 dogs to their owners this weekend. One man thought the dog had drowned.
A lot of owners have been found but signed them over because they can no longer afford / keep them while they rebuild.

If they are returned to the owners they are being fixed at no cost so that hopefully will help the stray population.

A lot of people have been working day & night to help these pets. They are working to bring the animals to the owners if they lost their vehicles.

It's really sad, but I am a dog lover & hate to see an animal suffer.
