Out of those 2 probably Super Bad although I've watched American Pie so many times as well. Just tend to quote Super Bad much more.

They're different. While I think Superbad might be a "better movie" overall I'll take American Pie everyday. SUCK ME BEAUTIFUL.

American Pie has more laughs. Superbad is more well written and directed

Can't Hardly Wait and American pie came out my last year in High School so those are memorable for me.

Superbad was great, and Fast Times could be the GOAT though.

Superbad did a pretty good job of nailing the high school experience in the middle 2000s. I love that movie.

I feel ya.

Superbad has better actors, a better story, better direction... pretty much better everything EXCEPT... American Pie has one Steven Stifler.

Big fan of both those films, but Dazed and Confused is my favorite movie about high school.

I really don't think American Pie stands up, especially compared to Superbad. Really, who films a live sex tape for the entire school to watch him frick or is fricked up enough to frick a pie. This wasn't my high school experience.

Superbad though is somewhat filmed as a period piece and seems timeless. It's not reliant on pop culture at all. It felt like high school. Trying to get the chick by buying booze, only to be reliant on a guy you're reluctantly friends with to buy it with his fake ID. Riding with a shady a-hole you don't really know making awkward comments. Arriving at a trashy party almost getting your arse kicked. That was high school. The only thing that wasn't realistic about Superbad were the cops, and that's about it.

Really liked both, but I'd give the nod to Superbad.

I find Superbad more realistic, because that's how high school kids actually talk and acted when i was growing up, which in turn made it much funnier to me even as an adult. American Pie was great, but too over the top.

One of my all time favorite scenes:

Steve Stifler: Vicky, Jessica, great to see you, glad you could make it! Ha ha, Bitches.

Steve Stifler: Sherman!

Chuck Sherman: Hey!

Steve Stifler: What the frick are you doing here?

American Pie is better all around but Superbad is the funniest.

Ridgemont High rocks it for older genre but Breakfast Club deserves mention for a great portrayal of the mid 80s with more focus on teen angst (a must for any HS movie).
