We are planning on having a security system installed in our home, and would like the OT's opinion. I have done some online comparison of the 2, and ADT seems to have a higher rating, while Vivint seems pricey, but a little more "modern". Do any of you have either of these, and what are your thoughts? We are thinking of possibly 5 door/window sensors, and 2 cameras. Thanks in advance!

ADT contracts are like being in the Mob.

Once you are in, you try to get out but they just pull you back in.

They once sent me a bill and Demand Letter for a home I hadn't owned in five years. Screw them.

Use the one who sends aggressive men to your house and make you feel like they are going to rob and rape you if you don't sign up with them

Deadbolts and barred windows. And a gun. And a dog. And a rape whistle.

Friend of mine had a Vivint bill due on Sept. 1. He got paid on Sept 2., and therefore paid it that 1 day late. The 1 day late transaction went through.

This is what they sent him in the mail for ONE day late

Vivint is a scum bag Mormon company with zero ethics. We run their sales people out of our neighborhood twice a year. I had one of their guys hiding behind a pillar on our pavilion the other day to avoid me seeing him.

i had 130 home owners message their regional manager individually with threats of trespassing charges if one of their people set foot in our subdivision again.

frick Vivint.

Use a local company. You can get the same system for less money usually. I use Acadiana Security Plus here in Lafayette.

Simplisafe or Tattletale. Stay away from those contract companies.

We have had Vivint for about 3yrs without problems - easy install and wireless which is nice. We are at the end of our contract but will keep using them.

I have Vivint. I like the technology. ADT was too low tech for the price.

Is Acadian Home Security available? If so I would go with them. I've had 12 happy years with only 1 rate hike in that span.
