This!

If he had Jimbo or some other QB guru his whole career I'd have to think he'd be a damn good QB.
This system has just ruined him (and a few others).

If he were exception and not the rule, I would blame him...since that is not the case I do not blame him. He is not the first QB this coach has ruined.
I do feel really bad for him, and his reaction on the sideline when he threw the INT was brutal. I think he is a good kid that played for the wrong coaching staff.

That is the point I am making why is a 4 wr set considered desperation mode???? Miles has ruined you also
I'm not saying four wide is considered desperation, I'm talking clock and score. At this point I'm ready to do anything different to see what might work, but I honestly think we'd be worse trying to spread ppl out and throw it around. We have the best back in college football it's not a horrible idea to line up and run it at ppl. With that said we obviously need to find different ways to do it and not be so vanilla about it.
My biggest issue is with Harris off play action. How is he not better with that when we're play actioning off LF and has Dupre and Dural to throw to

He's just not that good ,no reason to feel sorry for him. He can't place the ball in spots consistently enough to be championship caliber. Good charter kid I wish him the best in his next endeavor after college.

This, he has accuracy problems. Period.
And who's coaching him and teaching him how to improve on his deficiencies? All QBs have areas they need to work on, but for some reason the QBs at LSU never improve with experience. You put Harris in a program like FSU, Clemson, OSU, Bama, hell even MSU he will likely flourish with the QB coaching these school provides.
Miles & Co. are QB killers. I feel sorry for every QB that signs with LSU b/c none of them will reach their full potential under this coaching staff. Lindsey Scoot has to be sitting there thinking...."Did I make the right choice for myself?"
Miles is a great guy, but the game has quickly passed him by the past 3+ seasons. He will never come out and say this, but he has no damn idea what to do to right the ship and it shows with his so-called "adjustments"

LSU QB Development Plan:
> recruit and sign mobile QB's used to shotgun/spread offenses
> surround them with 4 and 5 star wide receivers, tight ends, and pass catching backs
> force them into pro style offense, taking snaps from the I or Pistol formation.
> handicap the play calling with outdated run dominant offense, never allowing them to get the reps to get a rhythm with the offense or their weapons.
> ask them to step in during critical situations and save the day on 3rd & distance.
> watch them struggle, get frustrated, and get blamed by fans and media.
> backup QB's wise up and transfer.
> those who stick around, leave LSU heartbroken and disgruntled about entire experience.

I've felt bad for every single QB that's played at LSU since Matt Flynn...
Except Jordan Jefferson.
Except Jordan Jefferson.

No own the accountability it comes with leadership if you cant take it and improve then focus on school - tired of the excuses.

Because often those are the only two guys running a route of any substance. Teams can play man on the perimeter and the PA pass isn't all that great against man defense.

Guess I'm in the minority where I don't feel sorry for him. Sure his protection sucked, but it wasn't CC making those errant throws.
He literally doesn't look like he improved one iota this offseason. Footwork still suspect. 5-10 yard passes. Still panics in the pocket.
I understand people want to put the blame squarely on the coaches, but why do players get a pass for their shitty play?

I think his mechanics are not real good which leads to accuracy issues then confidence issues. Bad mechanics will work in practice when there is no pressure.
During games, not so much. Good kid with bad mechanics. I hope he can get it all figured out.

I think blame has to be shared. Most blame lies on coaching and play calling. Les and Cam are not calling plays that take advantage of the defenses presented to them, nor are they calling plays that puts ALL of our talented skill players in positions to contribute. Harris owns not taking matters into his own hands to make smart plays, like checking into passing plays when the defense puts 9 in the box, identifying weak links in the secondary and taking advantage of them, putting his tall receivers in position to take advantage of smaller DBs or scrambling more to make the defense have to account for him. And I'll just go ahead and say it... Perhaps the complexities of Cam's NFL passing game gives him way too much to think about back there. Perhaps things need to be simplified- which goes back to coaching to take advantage of the skills of your talent, and not your personal philosophy.

I just re-watched most of the game today. He sails almost 70% of his passes and routinely misses open receivers. I listened to Alan Risher yesterday on 104.5 talk about how bad Harris throwing motion is and that is part of the problem with the 10-20 yard passes. He said receivers hate having QB's that make them elevate on almost every play. It gets guys hurt. Risher said Etling has to get a shot because you have 3rd yr QB that hasn't improved since he got to campus.

Ross Dellenger said Harris had 5 bad passes out of the 21 attempts during his film study. He said some of those were still catchable though. I think your 70% is hyperbolic.

Ohh so you have no intent of being practical. Never mind.

Kid sucks at quarterbacking. I don't feel bad. I quit feeling bad once they graduate HS. No longer kids.

You think Harris is getting a pass on this board?
At some point the trend is on the coaches. We've reached that point.
At a bare minimum, even if they've managed to find an incredible streak of highly touted yet ultimately untalented QBs (Lee, Jefferson, Jennings, Rettig, Harris, etc.), that STILL falls on the coaching staff.
Either the coaches aren't putting them in a position to succeed (highly likely) or the coaches aren't recruiting guys who have the skill to succeed (unlikely but still a major problem).
