Wow what a waste of money, how are we gonna afford more FA busts now? We could have bought 6 browners for his price.

100% guaranteed and 18% of the total cap! LOL, still love it. Now fix the line.

4 for 96
Or you add this year's 5 and call it 123
All matters of perspective but the numbers to be signed is obvious. This isn't a hard deal to get done

@RapSheet: #Saints & QB Drew Brees made significant progress recently on an extension, source said. Optimism now. @ProFootballTalk says it's "close."

Shorter-term?

2 year extension? I'd be ok with that.

Just hope the guaranteed money will be reasonable.
Well his demands were totally reasonable.

Profootballtalk's Mike Florio reports the Saints and Drew Brees are "close" to agreeing to an extension.

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reported Monday that Brees was looking for a four-year, $100 million deal. And Brees reportedly thinks he can play five more seasons, and was looking for $85 million guaranteed on his next contract. Brees is 37, but he's still playing at an extremely high level. He's long said he won't negotiate into the season, so Sunday would appear to be the deadline.

@LarryHolder: RT @Edwerderespn: Expect it to get done next 48 hours or not at all. With Brees 37, I don't expect long-term record-breaking deal LINK

His asking price was good. By 2020, that annual amount will be Sam Bradford money. And he'll still be better than Bradford.
