So Wisky is 10.

So, saying that, why would you rank the team who lost to your #10 on a late field goal in their home state 21?

That is why these early season rankings are ridiculous

I'm very confused by this logic.

Either Wisconsin is a legit top 10 team and losing by 2 at a neutral site should put us at 15 at the worst IMO

Or we deserve to drop to 22 because we lost to a bad team, but no way can they then rank that team #10

Our ranking doesn't really matter. Neither does Wisconsin's truthfully, but having them ranked so high does well for our perception.

By straight results, sure. We lost by 2.

But we got dominated. So maybe they're rewarding Wisconsin for beating us up pretty good.

They beat the preseason ranked #5. No problem with that.

Loss doesn't look so bad now. Some idiot poster(s) said Wisconsin was a terrible team.

Houston will be in the playoff if they win out. I wouldn't want to play this Houston team in the playoff

Too high. We shouldn't be ranked.

Wisconsin is too high as well. We are terrible.

I'd put Wisconsin around 16 because they played hard and well together and I think they'll have a good year.

We won't.

They for sure aren't terrible. They're pretty good.

Top 10 team? Don't think so. Top 20 team? Definitely, to me.

If you throw out the opinions about how bad LSU sucks and how we're going to go 6-6 and Miles will be fired mid-season, we're still pretty fine.

I mean, look at some of the teams ranked in and around the top 10... Georgia, Washington, Texas, Michigan State, Louisville... All of these teams are taking multiple losses.

Now sure, polls don't matter at this point. But to pretend that the season is over is clearly silly. I had a feeling when this poll came out it might calm some people down. If LSU wins the next two weeks, they'll probably be right around #15 heading into the Auburn game.

Our offense doesn't look improved. Yes, it's been one game, so you can't judge everything on that. However, it doesn't seem like it'll be much different. But we've won a lot of games at LSU with bad/mediocre offense and good/great defense. I still feel like we can do that.

I don't think it's unrealistic to say we'll be 6-2 heading into the Alabama game, still controlling our own destiny in the West.

Makes sense. A lot of AP voters adhere to the "blank slate every week" method of voting, which the coaches poll voters don't necessarily do as much.

There's no harm in putting Wisky 10 for right now. Most AP voters probably figure LSU - solely based on history - is good to finish at least 8-4 and probably in the top 25. So they perceive a win over LSU as probably one of the most quality wins of any team this past weekend.

If Wisky keeps winning it justifies the #10 ranking. If they lose, they can drop them. It's not like the playoff teams are getting decided tomorrow.

so we lost to a top 10 team by 2 on the road and dropped 16 spots. if we are to be embarrassed by the wisconsin loss, the ap voters cannot, at the same time, rank them so high where our loss was basically justified. not that these polls matter, but the thought process, or lack thereof, that goes into them is always entertaining. if we had no business losing that game, then wisconsin is not also a top 10 team

Where were you on Saturday?

We didn't get dominated.

We kinda did.

They had over 80 more yards, which is kind of a lot in such a low-scoring game. That's 2-3 drives. They had 7 more first downs. They dominated time of possession, which is supposed to be one of LSU's strengths.

We got beat up.

Not really surprised by Notre Dame staying ahead, but I don't get the logic either. You move Wisky up to 10, ahead of Texas, but punish LSU more than ND?

if wisconsin is the #10 in the country, the voters are basically saying to me that it was a justified loss, which it was not. if it is their opinion that the loss was bad, which it was, then wisconsin is not also a top 10 team. what should have happened is that wisconsin enter the tail end of the top 25 and LSU be ranked somewhere below that

Notre Dame lost a true road game, and was more competitive. Maybe not on the scoreboard, but if you watched the game, if that makes sense?

Not saying I agree with the logic. Just trying to present an argument.

Again, it's the Week 1 poll.

Based on what they've done in 1 game, where else should you put them?

What have you done on the field? That's what a lot of these voters are going by.

Again, Wisconsin probably isn't a top 10 team. Doesn't mean they shouldn't be ranked there right now.

Too high. We have literally no offense. It won't be long before we drop out completely. So much wrong with this staff. It can't be corrected.
