Omit #2 and possibly flip Herman and Fisher. That is more or less my list at this point.

Fedora's achievements at UNC and Southern Miss should not be undervalued.

I do not believe LSU will get Herman. But, I'd show up on his doorstep and keep writing checks until he said " yes" or had the police escort me away.

Yeah, I just don't see us getting Herman. You rarely get the first, best choice. Remember when Bama fans were all pumped because they thought they had Rich Rod locked up, then all of a sudden they got Saban? It's more than likely gonna be someone that hasn't even been talked about yet. I'm also kinda surprised at the lack of support for Frank Wilson...

Lsu had the best coach in the game. That coach did not care about floods, hurricanes, cops getting shot or humanity. That coach cared strictly about preparing his team and winning. I hope the next coach stays out of the social arena and master the football arena.

UTSA was 3-9 last year - if Wilson can turn around that team such that they can get to a bowl this year, I think that would be clear evidence as to his competency as a head coach.

Combine that with the fact that he's an outstanding recruiter and knows Louisiana and the SEC, and I think he would be a solid hire.

How are you related to Wilson?

While Herman should be at the top of everyone's list, Fedora is probably the most reasonable choice. I don't see our current administration having the moxy to fend off the competition from Herman. The way the debacle unfolded last year gives me no reason to trust that they can reel in the hottest name in coaching when other top-tier programs will be vying for him. But Fedora would be a great choice, and he'd probably be here for a while.

Agreed. I think this is the progression LSU will go through :

1. Hey Jimbo, we still got a deal? We're ready now

2. If Jimbo says no, go all in for Herman.

3. Continue throwing cash at Fisher and Herman until one says yes.

4. All bets are off, nationwide search, who knows who it will be, maybe even a surprise candidate no one even considered. If it gets to this point, all bets are off regarding who will be the next coach. Fedora would certainly be a front-runner if it gets to this point though.

**Briles and Kiffin will never be hired as LSU's HC, pointless to include them in any discussions/lists

If I had never read Political Talk on this's site, I would be shocked to see fans ask for Kiffin or Briles.
No more.
I don't want any part of a program that would hire those guys.
But, then, again, I'm still stunned at neighbors who actively support Donald Trump.

Patterson has stated he is never leaving TCU. They will match whatever anyone offers. He is not happening.

He just signed a new contract a couple months ago....I agree not happening.

I just do not think Pattrson or Shaw are leaving their current jobs.

Herman or Jimbo are my two tops. They'd both have tell me no to go elsewhere.

Then, it becomes Fedora et al
