T or F - this is our best defense since 2011 SEC championship team

True but we haven't had much to celebrate since then.

I'll let you know in February.

False. I have not seen the 2016 defense play. However, true if you are just comparing papers
Posted on 8/29/16 at 9:18 pm to LSUfan389
False. 2012 with minter, Reid, Montgomery, Mingo, Logan, and tharold Simon was still championship caliber. Just needed the 2013 offense with it

2012 defense was 9th in the nation in total defense, and 12th in the nation in scoring defense.
2016 defense will be better.

And an eligible TM7

Hard to say because of the change in scheme and so many true freshman having to step up.

So you're going to need 3 weeks after the national championship to decide???

I think it's safe to say based on talent. Let's hope production follows

Talent yes. Results? Prob not.
I mean, honey badger man. Honey Badger

I hope it is, but they're just one year removed from being very mediocre.

Lets hope its better than the 2012 D. If so we are in for a terrific season.

Can't beat having the badger, but he did say since 2011. Meaning 12 to present.
12 was a really good D, I think this defense can be as good as 12:
-Interior Dline is as good potentially better (no Brockers in 12)
-Key is as good as Mingo. Neal not quite Montgomery
-beckwith can be as good as minter, minter didn't dominate in 11
-Linebackers outside of minter weren't special
-Reid and Adams are a push IMO, Loston and Jefferson are similar, and mills started at CB in 12 but wasn't one of our top 4 DBs last season. We return everyone but mills

Of course, but I thought that was too easy of a question.
I still want to see Key in open field coverage, but I think he will be dominant as a rusher.
I think LB we're similar to '12 too.
But, I like Adams more than Reid IMO. I think he has an edge as an overall player.

Heck, I'd be happy if folks just waited until October before making these pronouncements. But I think chance for a yes are good.

Uhh, think again, buddy. Neal is better than 2011 Montgomery and much better than the 2012 version.
Also, Mills certainly was one of our top four last year. They moved Mills, just as they're moving White this year, because he was experienced enough to handle the more complex assignments.
BTW, no disrespect intended. Other than these two points I thought your post was right on.
