I looked online and the solutions ranged from chemicals to Ex-Lax. Most say the Ex-lax may be the best one. These little fellows are tearing up my front yard. The sod cost a fortune a few years ago to install and i dont want to do it again. Any recommendations that worked?? I know i will get the kill them with Fire one .

I have used the poison you buy at Lowes or Home Depot. Knocked them right out.

Kill them with fire?
Your yard has AIDS?
Get a GDCK?

Better?

I wanted to be a good guy and try and get rid of them without killing them, but it turns out that's not possible. In the end I used the poison worms. I'd knock down their tunnels to see which ones popped back up, meaning they used it every day. I then dropped half a worm in various portions of the tunnel.

Seemed to do the trick for a year or so until some more migrated over from my neighbor's yard. I need to re-up on worms as the bastards have gotten back in my garden.

I have to remember this trick. Was worried poison may kill the grass. Watered to get through the drought were having only to fall victim to the moles
.

First hand experience in my yard...

Moles didn't bother me much until the dog discovered he could dig them up and proceeded to tear up the yard hunting them.

Elderly neighbor suggested finding their tunnels, poking holes in them and placing juicy fruit chewing gum for them to eat.

Apparently they cannot resist it and once consumed, it reacts unfavorably with their little mole bowels and they croak.

Worked as advertised.

Worms are the best option as it's a bait of sort. Like other guy said, locate the tunnel and drop a few worms throughout the tunnel. Every 15 ft or so should be OK. You won't hurt anything by putting too many in.

Poison won't hurt your grass. Most insecticides are not 'hot' with no phytotoxic effects.

You could get gnarly and buy some pocket gopher traps and really know the fricker is dead.

Call your local German shorthaired pointer group or rescue. I had moles for 2 days when I moved in and my GSP killed them all.

I enjoy running over frogs in my golf cart in the early morning hours. The pop sound is fantastic.

If you are OK with a slightly less than humane option, these worked for us in the past.

We talking moles or gophers here? Because Carl Spackler specializes in killing all the golfers on the course except they would put him in jail and throw away the key. Well do it man!

I had a indoor/outdoor cat that did the same. He would sit there on the patio just watching them dig soon as the mole surfaced he would pounce. He would lay his kill right next to the front door. I bet he killed at leat 10 moles over a five year span.

Had a Jack Russell terrier that did the same. I never knew we had moles around here until I started finding them laying at my doorstep.
