There are several great locations below Houma for salt water. The fishing is great and most camps have a boat lift, often 2. After having the convenience of a boat on a lift it is hard to go back to launching a boat at a crowded ramp each time you go fishing.

Being able to drive your boat up to a dock to get fuel and bait are also big pluses.

I agree. My buddy's family has a camp in dulac in one of these frou frou gated places. frick man. It's nicer than my house.

I have had friends with camps on the beach in GI. Some were VERY nice. But if you really want to fish, it was kind of annoying to go launch.

I grew up fishing out of Cocodrie. Pretty much everyone has a spot on the Bayou. Very nice to have. I don't know if I'd want a camp that didn't have water access.

Southern Comfort in Dulac is pretty awesome.
