I dont think Fournette and Guice will run wild like some of yall are saying. I think Fournette will have like 120 rushing and Guice will have like 35-45. I know 120 yards us a good game for a rb but some are acting like he's gonna go for 220. Wiskys defense is nothing to scoff at.

Fournette and Guice will make Wisconsin's defense look stupid. Then in the 4th, Darrel Williams will be mopping up the gore... Ahem... Running up the score I mean.

UW QB situation is on going. Houston (4 star QB from CA) is a 5th year senior and should start vs. LSU IMO, but he is really getting pushed in camp by Hornibrook (a red shirt So.) Houston in game experience is in relief duty for an injured Stave vs Illinois. he played well and won but had two bad picks that made you wonder. Many had high hopes for him as he was very highly thought of by Chryst out of De La Salle High school. Its taken him a bit to develop. First because De La Salle runs a Veer. Second he fell out of favor with Gary Andersen as he wanted a running QB. Which led to the issue in 2014 LSU if you remember, with McEvoy starting over Stave and Stave getting "the yips". Needless to say we don't miss old Gary. Bart then by his own admission said he didn't apply himself enough to unseat Stave last season. Bart has been the most naturally skilled QB on our roster for several seasons. Just hasn't put it all together yet. But seems to have a different mindset and more confidence now that Chryst is back. Hornibrook is a 3 star guy and is the future starter, IMO. He might be a bit raw for an open vs. LSU, but the competition is real between the two. both are better passers with better arms the Stave from last year.

it really scares me how wisconsins running game vs our front 7 matches up, and that was BEFORE this weeks injuries.
if they get a solid running game going and Harris cant get the offense moving, we are in big trouble
WTH? Their run game definitely does not match up. They had their worst rushing performance in forever last year and the only thing that changed is that Clement should be healthy and run behind a better OL.
I think you forgot that during the game in 2014 we had two DTs getting their first start (one a true freshman, the other a true sophomore), Welter was the starting MLB, and Jamal Adams didn't even play much. Harris gets the offense moving much better than Jennings and now that he and his WRs are a year older and wiser, that won't be a problem with a team like Wisconsin.
Plus Fournette is now a junior with Guice and Williams backing him up!
I don't expect this game to be close. It'll be at least a 20 point blowout. Sorry Wisconsin fans.

You'll see soon enough.

Isn't Wisconsin like a B1G version of Arkansas?
In some ways, but just because it's the same style doesn't mean much. Not to mention, the last couple of years we have been replacing lost players or playing very young guys.
Lac got hurt, but we have other experienced players behind him that are probably more talented, and incoming guys who are freaks of nature...literally freaks of nature. Our secondary is stupid. I don't see any WR causing LSU secondary remotely any problems. The problem there is that Aranda can just play bump and run, stack the box and dare average WRs and inexperienced QBs to beat him. Maybe they do, time will tell.
On to Aranda and the OP. OP, you said players play so losing Aranda isn't that big of a deal (paraphrasing). I could not disagree more. Y'all didn't play us last year and you've probably only looked at box scores...but wow our DC was bad. I think we ran 3-4 defensive plays all year. Aranda has made every D he's coached into a top tier D...but it's not even arguable that he now has his most talent he's ever had. I know stars and rankings mean very little once the pads are put on, but the talent we have on defense is perhaps the best in the country.
Tre White 1st/2nd round
Jamal Adams 1st round
Kevin Toliver (only a sophomore but has the frame of a 1st rounder or very high rounder)
Kendall Beckwith is a top 3 round guy. Depending on the combine could be higher
Arden Key (Sophomore, but with 15 more pounds will almost definitely be a 1st rounder)
Davon Godchaux projected one of the top 3 DT's off the board
Lewis Neal 2nd/3rd round
This doesn't even count the other 5-7 extremely highly recruited DB's. This doesn't include 2 top 10 DT recruits. Our worst DT recruit is better than Wiscy's best (the Rand kid). I'm not afraid to call John Chavis an above average coach. He wasn't good, but he wasn't bad. And I'm definitely not afraid to call Kevin Steele a bad DC. With all that being said, Aranda is about as good as it gets. That is why we expect our defense to be stout.
Our offense has as much talent if not MORE talent than the defense. The question though, will we just go I-form 2 tight every single play, or will we attempt to be creative? That and that alone is what is holding LSU back. They say things have changed, but I'm not holding my breath.
So it's not that Wisconsin isn't get respect, it's that LSU's talent is insane this year. On paper this is our 2nd best team in the last decade. Wisconsin can use the "no respect" as motivation, but there is a distinct reason why vs LSU they are getting less respect.

Yeah they are going to have a rough time vs LSU if they are having trouble vs Wisconsin level DBs
quote:
Wednesday was the first practice with pads (half-pads) for the team, and team drills started to take shape. Wisconsin Sports Zone Network’s Zach Heilprin reported there were four interceptions thrown, with two returned for touchdown by cornerback Sojourn Shelton. The senior will lead the secondary this year, and though early, it’s a promising start.

You'd better be content with competing in the drinking realm.

I totally agree he does have more overall talent, however is that talent, the ones he needs for this system? Like I said, the Wisconsin D was much different from year one vs. year three. There was a learning curve.
Your guys are talented no doubt about it! But, are they a talented unit yet? That remains to be seen. You can have the best players in the world but if you are having trouble picking up the scheme and communicating... you could have issues. That all I'm saying.

Clement was on the Heisman watch list going into last year. You're talking like he's just an average player. He'll get his behind a more experience OLine.
I don't think UW wins by any means, but I like how many of you think it will be a walk in the park. Being the underdog is fun.

Sorry about some of these posters man. It's kinda embarrassing. Now hit that downvote.

Yeah this kinda surprised me. I thought we had more objective posters on here.

we are objective. And we objectively see that LSU will kick Wisconsin's arse
Posted on 8/11/16 at 6:50 pm to rmnldr
We might but acting like Wisky won't even give us a fight at all is kinda ridiculous. They're a prideful program and they're not just gonna lay down and take it up the arse. See 2014.
Posted on 8/11/16 at 6:53 pm to I-H8-BAMA
They won't lay down but they will be knocked down. Over and over again. They don't have the players to stay with this expierenced LSU team.
